Research shibari. Its not about the knots, its about the fluid movements. Never react to a mistake, dont bother making it look perfect. Her experince depends on your leadership and confidence.

Firm hold, she isnt really going to try and get out. She will just enjoy the basic feeling of constriction.

Tips..

when moving the rooe over her skin remember you are on in a yacht race. Move naturally at human speed esp when pulling through longer sections.

Practice your double column tie alone. You need that nailed before starting.

Start with a Takate Kote and stick with it for a while until you could do it without thought.

Then start experimenting. You can tie a harness under her clothes and take her shopping. She will be embarrressed. Next time take her clothes shopping. So she has to see it in the change cubicle. Etc. Just remember that its not about getting her immobile to just have your fun.

Biggest tip, dont tie her up then untie. Spent 20% of the time doing the tie, theb 80% taking it off. Start taking it off, the just change the tie in to something else, half undo, change again. Takes some prethought. In this experience she is 100% submitting to your control, so take her on a tour and make it unpredictable. When doing this feel free to move her around physically, push against her to tighten the rope a bit.

When pulling the rope in a knot drape it over her and pull it through gently. Obviously avoid rope burn, but the texture of a natural jute/ hemp rope is part of the experience. So, at one point gently pull it across her throat or casually let it run across her nipples.

The experience is sensory, so a blindfold can amplify it. Later on consider ice, hot wax, etc

If you get into rope, invest in some good jute. Twisted Monk has some nice starter kits.

After that, educate yourself. Crash-restraint is a great site and there are other Shibari guides out there.

Thats how I got started (more or less) and have been tying my partners up for about 6 years.

I introduced handcuffs to one of my main plates that I've been seeing (over a year now) a couple of months back. I wanted to spice things up and I read up on different items to use in the bedroom (i.e. ropes, chains, handcuffs, etc.) and I wanted to experiment with handcuffs. It's surprisingly been a lot of fun whenever I have brought them out. I do recommend doing your own research first and figuring out what you want to try. I agree with what /u/HornsOfApathy mentions about knowing what you are doing beforehand. You don't want to kill the mood by watching YouTube tutorials on how to tie up ropes.
