(after a quick unsuccessful search, I thought I'd post). I remember reading (either in posts or in the sidebar) that we MRPers should never turn down sex.

I fully embraced this attitude for the last year, but lately I have turned down sex a few times. Wife is offering it just to please me, but I've been wanting enthusiastic participation. So I turn it down, especially since I know I will likely get laid the next day.

Background: I've been on the MRP/RP journey for about a year. Lot's of improvements during this past year, much due to MRP (recent career promotion, lifting heavy, regularly hanging with the guys, have an athletic hobby), still have more improvements to go. I'm 40, wife is 40, 3 kids 7 and under. Sex has improved radically over the last year. From 2x a month to 2x-3x a week, good quality, she cums about 3/4 of the time, other times it's all for me and I just caveman it. More recently, period sex is now offered!! By all accounts, everything is pretty good (but I'm by no means resting, there is always more improvement that can be had).

Frame, STFU, OI (and even some amused mastery) have been key and where I have improved the most (of course, still can get better).

So, I turned down sex last night, it was a half-assed offer by the wife and I was literally "meh, no thanks." Is this a good sign of abundance, or (in my quest to become more alpha) should I always take it? I feel like I'm at a point where I can expect enthusiastic participation (if that is what I want), and I'm in this for the long game.

What's your take on this? Was a Beta pussy or can it be an Alpha move in turning it down?
