Simple question: have you ever been blackout drunk? I used to drink quite heavily in my twenties. The worst I got was "taking a nap in a random/uncomfortable position" drunk. Or "something stupid seeming like a great idea" drunk. But I've never experienced that thing where your consciousness disappears but you seem to be able to function normally in society but have no recollection of it. Is it a myth/convenient excuse for fucking the wrong people or what? Because if it was possible to lose consciousness while still functioning normally, that would have huge philosophical implications on the notions of free will, responsibility, agency and such. Our best scientists should get on that shit tbh Sarcasm aside, I am really looking for serious and unbiased answers.
