I know it sounds stupid, but I am really struggling to break into established groups of friends. One on one, I have no problem meeting people and befriending them, but actually getting invited to events is really hard.

For an example, I became friends with a girl at Uni, she invited me to drinks on the Uni Residential School; I go and party with them all, be a general fun person on the town, but then thats it. No reinvite the next week etc. I just can't seem to do it.

To be honest, this is something thats really stressing me out. I've only just come to uni this year, 1 year later than everyone else my own age. I'm killing it grades wise, but struggling to actually make some friends and become part of the groups.

This is so stressful for me, because next year I plan to transfer to a bigger uni in my states capital. A lot of the people from that uni know me from back in high school when I was a real loser. If I can't break into a group on my small regional campus, how am I going to make it on a campus where a lot of popular people already have me penned in as a loser?

I'm in Australia, so frats dont really exist here. The closest we have is residential schools, but to be honest I am worried about going into one of those and been considered weird, since I am older and already live out of home.

I've come so far in terms of self improvement, I dress better, eat better, I'm a lot more chill in general rather than aggressive beta ego boy, but I just cant seem to actually cement my place in a group.

Does anyone have any ideas that could help me?
