The question I pose is this:

I completely understand and know that the whole "disney" and "fairy-tale" idea of romance, love and relationships is rubbish.

However, I can't help but feel that if the ideal of love and relationships is all a big lie, I don't really want a woman.

I WANT to have a woman to whom I can say "I love you" and have her love me back, unconditionally. If I can't have that, and I have to play all these stupid manipulation games with them, then I really don't want anyone at all.

I hate the way that when I meet a girl, I have to hold back my feelings and pretend I'm not interested yet conversely have to keep talking to them despite the fact that that in itself is a contradiction of sorts.

If the only relationship I'm ever going to have where I act like myself involves me getting a fatty and being treated like a mug because I'm "beta" or whatever, then what's the point?

So it's sort of like a catch 22 situation: to get a woman I have to behave like someone I don't want to be.

More of a rant really, thanks for reading.
