Jokes aside, Sauavage, Polo Red, CK One, Acqua Di Gio and Givenchy Pour Homme all work great. Keep in mind there's no one scent that will instantly make a woman drool all over you. Scent is important but not as important as you think.

Sauvage by Dior I bought the 6.8oz bottle for about 150$ well worth it in my damn opinion also has a bunch of good reviews on YouTube . If you have a Sephora store near you walk in and ask for some samples of it they’ll let you walk out with about 7-8 sprays worth in a small tiny tester bottle . Or try Macy’s they should be able to let you try it there .

It's fresh and clean at first and fades to warm citrus and sandalwood over time.

Yah... This is all a bit much. Cologne means little compared to being well groomed.

Take a shower with lots of soap. Wash off the man stink. Worrying about your cologne is for children.

At most, take whatever you think smells nice and apply half of what you think you need.

If she can smell it before her lips can touch you, it's too much.

Ermenegildo Zegna Italian Bergamot. Only one spray and it lasts all day.

For a lighter scent, I like ZZegna Sport.

Daily would be Brooks Brothers Red Fleece

However, like MaximizeMasculinity said, its not as important as you think.

Try and test many different scents. Don't rush into a decision. If you like one, spray it on your skin, see how long it lasts, how it develops. It's different on everyone's skin. Don't worry about brand too much, price doesn't say much about the quality of a scent. The actual juice in even the highest end scents cost $2 to $5 to produce, the rest is all advertisements and mark up.

If you've don't have any scents already, get something that is inoffensive, so something not too strong, something suitable for multiple occasions and seasons. Versatility. Summer and spring, fresh and light, generally citrusy. Fall and winter, more spicy, warm.

Many are saying Dior Sauvage, if you've got the money, go for it, it's an all round quality scent. Dolce and Gabanna The One Intense and CH Men Prive, Allure Homme Sport(any one you like), mid range in terms of price, good performance, majority of girl's will like it.

Aventus: don't. It's crazy expensive and only good if you're really into niche houses.

These other guys have you covered already but here's my two cents. Definitely try on whatever you buy first, but some good ones I've had and the approx price are (from cheapest to most expensive):

Chrome - decent size bottle should be $ 30 or less. Victorinox Original - big bottle around $ 65 i think, don't know if they still make it. Chanel Blue - maybe $ 100? Creed Silver Mountain Water - big bottle around $ 250-300. Tom Ford is good too

I vote you hit Nordstrom and have the girl behind the counter spend some time assisting you, though watch out, they could very well be crazy (sidebar covers retail girls).

Cologne should be rare. Scent fucks with a woman's labia more than people want to admit. You don't want to get a cologne that reminds her of the Chad she had previously, do you?

Which is why you never tell anyone what type if cologne you wear. Keep it on the DL. Nobody gives a fuck because you should be doing your own homework, otherwise you might as well just get some Axe.

I’m more of oriental perfume and oil fan myself, those tend to be unisex but nothing beats the smell of intense oud or rose water in my book.

Keep in mind you'll need to try several because body chemistry interacts with the cologne.

My go-to is Burberry Brit.
