Today i have officially lost over 50 lbs with keto in 6 months , what my weight tracker equates to the weigh of a twin bed.

Much like TRP , Keto is a counter to a culturally created ideal . Society want blue pill carb lovers betabux equals a continuing economy and sugar is big money because it is in EVERYTHING.

There are scientific reasons keto works at it's core the research is that the sugar constantly raises your blood sugar which reduces your bodies natural fat burning rate . There is a lot more to it than that but high level that is keto simplified and why a diet composed of proteins and fats can put your body in a higher state of fat burning.

I can personally guarantee that if you consume less than 30 grams of carbs daily this week that by the end of the week you will be at least 5 lbs lighter HOWEVER the majority of this is water weight so the moment you break your ketosis the weight comes back . It's the long term maintenance that really burns your excess fat.

It took me a lot of experimenting, meal replacing (with lower carb alternatives), macro adjusting , and just general food management to find a groove that works best for me but i would never turn back. I have more energy now, have lost a ton of weight and plan to lose more, have a better relationship / understanding with food , and an increased mental clarity. Let me add that i by no means have had a perfect run with keto i probably have been out of ketosis a month and a half of my 6 months due to cheat days, holidays, and having a bad case of strep throat which i threw all sorts of syrups and sugary cough drops at on top of eating carb rich soups and breads. You get what you put in with this diet thou and the food options are incredible .

It depends on what you mean by "works". I assume you mean " can I lose weight eating keto?"

You can ad long as you eat fewer calories than you burn, which is the only way to lose weight. Keto can make that easier because the heavy fat, protein and fiber diet is much more filling and for longer periods than high carb. But you can also gain weight on a keto diet If you overeat. So watch your calories.

It's not a bad diet for weight loss, in that keto will help you cram less total calories down your gullet. Long term I recommend learning to eat at a deficit where you're eating protein, good carbs, and good fats to lose weight; I believe there's solid support for that being the most muscle-sparing on a cut. Keto will help you shit weight, but ultimately what is best is to lose weight slowly while maintaining maximum muscle (or even gaining if you are a noobie).

So keto is a good diet, it's just not the optimal one for most people, especially those who are also pumping iron 4 times a week.

Keto is incredibly effective once you're on it, but also tricky to unfuck if you start to slide on the diet.

Roughly one year on keto. I went from 260ish to 190ish in about 8 months, and have been steady there ever since. That's with zero workouts too, lazy keto.

Fat people are eating fats, but always with huge amounts of carbs, like pasta, bread and they`re snacking on sweets.

Yes it does. I've been doing it since January and combined it with -25% TDEE while lifting 3x/week and a bit of cardio (20 min high intensity intervals on elliptical as tolerated)/abs 2x/week and have lost over 30 pounds since then. Once I hit my goal, I'll maintain then go up 25% over my TDEE and bulk in the Fall.

It requires patience, discipline, and consistency.

It may not for everyone but it's the only diet that worked well for me. Dropped 50 lbs 5 yrs ago and kept it off.

I lost 17 lbs in 2 months of keto. Actually went up a few pounds the first week. Don't get discouraged. Once you start losing it's very satisfying.

Keto protects the body and the brain from glucosis-related insulin shocks ( brain and heart strokes). It definitely works, I've been trying it on myself and lost pubic fat like crazy while feeling no hunger.

I lost 40+ lbs in 4 months (60 lbs total). Easiest weight loss I've ever done. That weight loss upped my game big time. I had the game in my head, but my body wasn't with me. Bottom line: If you're fat, start keto NOW.

Pro tip, combine it with Intermittent Fasting at the very least — and if you're committed add in a lifting routine. You'll see your body shift from fat to muscle over the course of a few months. It's beautiful.

Keto is great for dropping weight, but the food selection will not teach you how to control your diet. Make sure you are portioning and counting calories.

The state of ketosis works, but I'd suggest not eating the diet. You can put yourself in a keto state using intermittant fasting and this will lean you out nicely. The issue with the diet is all the fat. It's not great for your heart and has another big issue. Your brain works using the glucose from carbs and by restricting that longer term you are going to crave those things like crazy. Have a look over at r/intermittentfasting/

edit: This is just my opinion based on trying to follow longer term dietary plans. I'd always be tempted to binge when I was on one and will power only gets you so far. IF means I only have to think about it a couple of times a week. Towards the end of your fast, growth hormone goes up like crazy, so it's good for training too.
