They are all like that. Instinctively they want to be submissive to a great man, but culturally they've been conditioned to become "strong independent women who need no man". They feel like if they yield in to their desires, they will be seen poorly by the sisterhood, and that would be a terrible blow to their status. So they have to live permanently in that state of contradiction. Like the career girl who struggles to admit to her lover she wants to be choked and slapped in bed.
