How do you get clear skin?

See a dermatologist. Asking people for advice on the internet, or buying random products, is just throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks.

I'm 31 years old. Finally started seeing the dermatologist about a year ago. They can help seemingly anything. I wish I'd had a family member to recommend going as an adolescent. Or the guts to do it myself.

Clean up your diet, clean your face properly, moisturize properly, and get enough sleep. It also helps if you aren't going through puberty.

Stay hyrdated, use a good moisturiser. Also invest in a face steamer, it will open up your pores, then apply a face mask (you can make one yourself). Repeat this twice a week

This is my process...

Once a week:

Shave
Wash face with a foaming face wash [http://amzn.com/B008IEUERE]

Cleanse face with astringent [http://amzn.com/B0009RFAOK]
Use a peel-off face mask [http://amzn.com/B00005NFBJ]
Use a enzyme face mask [http://amzn.com/B000O9O4YU]
Use a sea salt/mineral face mask [http://amzn.com/B007CY2C76]
Take a shower to rinse the last heavily messy mask (like blood splatter from an exploded smurf)
Dry face and apply a dab of medicated acne spot treatment on any visible (or feelable) pimples [http://amzn.com/B00027DDOQ]
Dry and apply moisturizer to face [http://amzn.com/B001E96LVS]

This takes about 2 hours, but you only do it once a week (like on a saturday or sunday)

Then each morning when i wake up and each night before bed, I do this:

Shave

This daily routine takes about 5-8 minutes.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of work, specifically the once a week treatment, but it's worth it... and you asked.

Overall, to get everything needed for this it cost less than $50, but will last you months.

Edit: I also forgot, putting some salt mixed in with neosporin directly on big pimples, helps amazingly.

Get some kind of exfoliating scrub and use that when you shower.

Works really well if you are consistent.

Make sure you change your pillowcase often, because it collects lots of oil.

I had a serious problem with acne going on when I was younger. However, I found out that a lot of it was due to stress. Once I learned how to manage stress, my acne pretty much disappeared and my skin cleared dramatically.

I would recommend you try and not worry about the acne so much and just relax about it. I know it may be difficult for you to do so, but try to get your mind off it.

Other helpful tips:

Cool your face now and then with cold water (especially if you feel it hot)
Drink water throughout the day (try avoiding sugary drinks)
Exercise regularly (this helped the most in relieving my stress)

wash off the grease & grime as frequently as necessary.

I also break open vitamin E capsules and rub in the liquid and it heals skin injuries super-fast.

Unless you're acne-ridden, this should change everything.

St Ives Invigorating facial scrub(no salicylic acid) and Neutrogena liquid soap. Just about $10 combined, one first then the other. Make sure to scrub thoroughly, then wash the same and let sit for about a minute. Wash, then PAT face dry. Do this 3-4 times a week, and wash with the soap alone if necessary.

Here is what I do/use:

Sleep with a towel on my pillow.
Apply Duac once daily.
Avoid greasy/fatty foods and sugary drinks.
