I had d-bags come up to me like that. After a while i thought about it, someone taking their time and going up to me, putting the effort to insult me in any matter? Im rather flattered that he actually took the effort to try to notice me because in my world he doest matter to me. therefore i wouldnt actually feel insulted because i dont respect him enough for me to get insulted.

My reaction would be confusion. He's lowering his own value and giving you the perfect opportunity to be the bigger man. The best strategy would probably to say nothing but when someone is being overly critical or incredibly arrogant I'd give a puzzled look like 'who invited this guy?'.

Maybe in class this works, but in the workplace, your anti defense needs to be more aggressive. Workplace bullies tend to be smart about it. You need to destroy them so they don't try it again in the future.

I always take the little brother approach.

This is when I feel sincerely sorry for the "little man" and instruct him that you don't need to act foul to make yourself feel better.

I am 100% serious too when I do.
