Instead of focusing on what to do, focus on what not to do.

(1) Don’t be bitter.

(2) Don’t be passive aggressive.

(3) Don’t buy into him with the rest of the crowd, get him to buy into you. This means being patient.

(4) Don’t seclude yourself.

(5) Last but most importantly, give up the faux control you think you have. What do I mean? Don’t try to do anything, control what you can; your actions. Just be worried about what you shouldn’t do. If you get #3 going, you win. If you get 1, 2, and 4 going, you break even.

If you're good at it, befriend them, get buddy-buddy. It's easy, just ask them a question about themselves, then tell them the answer to the same thing about yourself, "Where are you from?"

If you spent an hour to practice "solid" game, you're doing it wrong.
Everybody is a goddamn potential to get in your way. It doesn't matter so long as none of these people are in your face and/or physically stopping you from doing what you want to do. You should not give a damn about any of these people because all that matters is you and what you want to do.

I speak highly as if I'm blowing hot air, but it's a mental state that you must set up for yourself. Call it irrational confidence. It doesn't matter who else is there, it doesn't matter what she thinks, it doesn't matter what you do, so long as your confidently doing it without hesitation.

Case in point, I'm 5'6". I'm at a party where there are guys significantly taller than myself. I see a target and I make a move (chat her up a bit, increase the buying temperature, etc.) and then I bounce around. I don't spend a significant amount of time with her because I'm not trying to get to know her better; I'm interested in escalating things. She knows it, I know it. All the other guys are talking with her, chatting her up, getting her interested... but I'm not worried because I know that during the party, nothing is really going to happen because the party is still going on. It's at the close of the party that I know I can see what else is on the table. So towards the end of the night, lo and behold, she comes to find me and it's on.

If she wasn't available, then fuck it, it doesn't matter. There are always others.
