I'm 35, software engineer, introverted, and I work from home. Not the best combination to create a healthy social circle. The three places I visit regularly are: the gym, the coffeeshop, and the grocery store.

I've never had a very large social circle. Earlier this year I got out of a 3.5 year LTR (I lost frame) and I realize I have no face to face friends I can call up and get together with. The few local friends I had I let slip away over the years. Yes, I know this is my fault. Yes, I'm here for advice on how to fix this.

I chat with guys at the gym, we spot each other, we bullshit, etc but I'm never able to turn this into an actual friendship. It's completely contextual to the gym. 90%+ of the guys at the coffee shop are mincing soyboys and not worth the frustration that comes with talking to them.

So, where can a man in his mid-30s with his shit together (house, career, lifting, etc) meet likeminded men for legit friendships? Age doesn't matter, but mentality does.
