If you really are scared of situations like that you should take up fighting lessons and lift to the point of being intimidating.

I was sucker punched one time and almost got hit by a van while I was down. It made me feel terrible thinking that the guy that did that just got away.

Honestly, if the situation happened just like that in the video, I would probably fight the dude, because he doesn't seem THAT intimidating. But I lived in a poor area in Brazil, so I got used to people trying to intimidate me.

For me, if you are sure the guy isn't carrying a gun, just fucking go for it. Sucker puch him and play dirty or w/e.

I would never, ever, let a guy make me apologize like that. But again, I'm used to being intimidated and I lift and know how to fight, so... If I know the guy isn't carrying a gun I'll just go for it.

If he's not carrying a weapon, then the worst case scenario is you fight like a man and get your ass kicked. If you've never gotten your ass handed to you by another man, I highly recommend you do so, as it builds a great deal of character and teaches you to not be afraid of a punch.

Yeah, it hurts. Hurts your pride/ego on top of the physical pain. But you're through it a few days later and you realize it's not a big deal. This makes you a better man when you find yourself in that situation again.

As someone who doesn't want to fight, or you are far outmatched in strength or size, you should always try and talk your way out of it or run if possible.

As someone who is physically fit and ready to brawl, if I'm 51% sure a fight is about to happen, I will always throw the first punch and try and finish - ie disable, knockout or beat - the opponent as fast as possible.

In this specific situation - I would stand up immediately as soon as he approached the table. So we are we are eye to eye.

As there is a group of his friends near by, I know I'm way outnumbered. I would then make sure my back was facing the exit. Making sure the girl is behind me.

If things kicked off I would be looking for a weapon - glass, fork, soda bottle - to try and even the odds, while backing away towards the exit.

Not ideal if out on a date, but at night these situations do occur from time to time. Always avoid drunken groups of guys wherever possible.

I didn't watch the video, and i don't know how to fight, and never been in a fight.. but my way goes like if anybody really tries to fight me or attack me then I'll just fight back and do my best. For sure protect my head and try to take him down (did wrestling in high school).

I'll never mess with crazy though or anybody on hard drugs. You don't know if these people have a knife or try to bite off your jugular. Could happen.

I also work in an office and meet with clients daily, so even if i kick the guys ass but he manages to get a good hit on my face and now i have a black eye I'll be fucked.

Just avoid fights as much as possible they're really not worth it. But don't be a pussy and get pushed around. Guys have gotten in my face and stared me down. Most of them just wanted to scare me and see if they could punk me and i showed them that i can hold my ground so they act nice after that.

I can talk myself out of fights at this point, haven't had a real one in nearly a decade. I'm too old for that shit.

Fought quite a bit in highschool. Got my ass kicked a few times (once very badly, 10v1, stole one of their girls...), kicked a few asses, I'm not afraid of a fight, but I'd avoid it if I can.

100% of the time, I carry a knife. Even in my swim trunks at a pool party, there's a knife on me. (I have one with a bottle opener.)

Best advice I have for a fight is to wrap their hips, lift, and slam them on their fucking head. Gravity and concrete will do more than your fragile hands ever could.

In a situation like the video, I'd just crack jokes. Jock just wants to intimidate someone. If you're not intimidated, and actually joking, 99% chance they go find an easier target. 1% chance they resort to violence, at which point, I'm sure I can eat more punches than he can stab wounds...

Look man. You really have three options.

Learn to fight well.

Learn to run/escape well.

Learn to travel in groups

The base of all these is still accurate/experienced risk assessment. I've been mugged twice (gun and 2 guys with knives), and avoided mugging twice, once i ran, the other i beat the guy to a pulp. So go get experience sprinting, long distance running, lifting, fighting, or networking and coordinating. Since crime is going up in my city, I don't take shortcuts, carry a few blades, and party in groups.

The best way to avoid a fight is awareness of your situation. It's much less likely to happen if you're on your shit.

I carry a knife. If someone approaches and threatens me like that, especially if I'm in a vulnerable position like sitting at a table, I will stab them repeatedly without warning. That goes double if they have friends waiting to jump in like in the video.

I also make a strong effort to avoid these situations in the first place. If I'm somewhere and a group of loud rowdy guys shows up, I leave quickly. If someone tries to start trouble with me and I'm able to, I leave quickly. I would rather just avoid the situation. But I won't hesitate to stab someone to death to protect myself.
