Narcissism is a form of neediness, but twisted backwards. Mark Manson described this well in Models. Your behavior is not needy at all. Dont worry. People's feedback to your efforts will generally be bad, because people like stability. If they know you in bad shape, they want to see you stay in bad shape, generally speaking. Ofcourse not everyone, but enough so that it highly likely to lose friends in the process. My point is... do what you think is best, not what others say it's best, dont act based on how they react. They might have (unconscious) motives that are not concerned with what is best for you.

Are you goal oriented or praise oriented? That is the main difference between ambition and narcissism.

everyone here is saying no, but I would not take that as a "verified non-narcissist" stamp. I think it's more important to look at the meta. the reasons you listed are not narcissistic reasons per se, HOWEVER, that doesn't mean you didn't leave out other potentially narcissistic reasons. you obviously came here to "fish" for a certain response, and I doubt you provided completely truthful answers, as motivations are RARELY unidimensional or transparent (the moment you believe they are is the moment you lose control).

I would say that the reasons you provided alone are not narcissistic. As you can see from the comments, it is obvious the reasons you listed are not narcissistic, however fishing for a certain answer and providing limited data to paint a certain picture is definitely narcissistic. I have a good deal of experience with people with heavy dark triad proclivities, and this tactic is transparent. do not let your capacity to deceive yourself lead you to believe you aren't deceiving yourself. the most dangerous narcissist is a narcissist in denial.

I think it is telling that you appeal to the group with manufactured inputs seeking obvious outputs. this is something a woman or narcissist would do.

There's such a thing as healthy Narcissism and everyone has it. For example believing that you're better qualified than other applicants for a job. This is important during a job interview in allowing you to talk about yourself in a confident way.

For people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, this is the only show in town, so to speak.

If they're the center of attention they feel extraordinary confidence, and if they think they're not the center of attention, they feel the existential fear and rage of a toddler.

Narcissism is the most over-used term on every self-help subreddit, including the non-redpill ones. Narcissism is a pathological disorder, and the people who have it often have very unhappy lives.

The underlying logic of referencing narcissism within the red pill framework is because women are attracted to the so-called "dark triad" personality.

That being said, you can't just fake the indicators of a dark tried personality and expect it to make your life better. It's unfortunate that so many guys here hope they can just ape specific behaviors and think the sum of those actions will be to have women acknowledge them as "alpha." not only is that thinking still extrinsically motivated, but also just the simple fact that narcissism is a pathological mental disorder that you either have or you don't.

Understanding the system of thinking, the philosophy of self-interest...that's what's missing here. You have a great checklist of things to "do" but you aren't a human doing, you're a human being. The only way to change how you be is to fully understand a philosophy that leads you consistently to self-interested action.

I hope that makes sense and doesn't sound too new-agey or bullshitty.
