Retail workers/Food service workers probably get guys coming up to them multiple times a day, most of which are creeps and they're forced to be nice to the creeps. Their job is to be nice to you.

If you're approaching simply to practise, then it's fine, otherwise don't expect them to reciprocate.

For a start, don't ask if they have bf. If she mentions it, just tell her 'I just met you and you're already telling me your problems' or ignore, then change subject.

It might be ASD, not attracted to you or she really has a bf. Calibration and cues. Your approach reeks on neediness/thirstiness, especially the second. Keep approaching tho, that's how you'll learn the best.

Your opener already puts them in an awkward place, they almost have no option but to say yes I have a boyfriend.

Girls speak covertly, they don’t want to say I want to fuck you right off the bat which is imied if they say no to your question.

If they want to bring the bf up, let them bring it up.

For starters, like others have said don't ask her if she has a boyfriend.

If she tells you she has a boyfriend after asking for her number, simply pressure flip:

"Oh, and he doesn't let you have guy friends?"

Two approaches is alright (most guys in this world don't do any at all), but I think you'd actually feel comfortable doing more. Some guys who do cold approaches don't get into the the groove until they've done at least a handful of approaches.

Your two biggest things to avoid getting the IHAB rejection is to increase SMV and up your game.

Smile more during the interaction and try to speak in a deeper voice if you can (in fact, keep practicing at your voice intonation). Have fun with it and don't be too fixated on closing...rather, be in the moment and see where the convo goes.

Oh, and don't hit on employees at places. It's low hanging fruit and as u/misls said, they get hit on all the time. Hot employees are good for practicing to say clever, witty, or whatever game-type things with. Last time I did this, I was buying throwing knives at a sporting goods store when the clerk asked for my ID; I joked about the feds and whatnot to which she responded well, but I knew not to push it.

At the end of the day, it's a numbers game for us guys and rejections will still happen. But with increasing SMV and game, you should be able to reduce rejections.
