Where does mental health problems such as Depression and Anxiety lay within TRP ideology?

This is a pretty broad question. Mental health issues are tricky because there is no universal cure.

Its all about baby steps. Is lifting weights going to fix your depression? Probably not. Will it help? Definitely.

Is gaining a ton of confidence going to fix your anxiety? Probably not. Will it help? Definitely.

The same can be said about a lot of "TRP" ideas. If you look in the mirror and see the person that you want to be, you will have fewer issues. You can't expect to take the red pill and have everything fixed but by focusing on yourself you can make things a lot better.

Testosterone levels. Guys with high T (whether it's natural or temp boost) find that it's almost impossible to be depressed, even if you want to. Let alone anxiety. There's more to our RP signature Hit The Gym^tm advice than meets the eye.

I suffered from depression for 6 years. I'm 22 now and I'd like to think I'm over the depression and anxiety. TRP definitely helped as it provided some answers and some guidance in the community. I was never a fan of the medication since it just numbed everything. I'm not a great writer so sorry if I'm all over the place, it's just that TRP helped me change my mentality. I've definitely become a hardened person. I'm no longer a victim of anything. The world is not fair and that's become fine with me. I've learned to deal with everything I'm dealt with and there are many things in this world I can't control. It helped me accept that. Lift, improve yourself, improve self esteem, find and do the things you love, get laid, the world goes on.

The hardest part for me was when I felt so alone but the reality was that the world couldn't give a fuck about me or anyone else. My favorite videos are videos by Greg Plitt. His mentality on life was incredible And life altering for me RIP.

I'd also like to add this quote "I know that what's in front of me is a reflection of what is inside of me."

Shitty you? Shitty life. Change the one thing you have control over in this world: you.

It's all about that self generated success.

Personally I think the way the world is today leads to depression and anxiety. Not enough "flow" and too much down time.

I think this quote sums it up:

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

TRP's advice helps one moderate and manage depression:

I'm not a top contributor or some RP sage but I have dealt with depression and follow TRP.

First depression isn't an excuse, it's a very real thing that goes well beyond thought. Peer reviewed scientific papers have showed time and time again depression causes noticeable physiological changes in those who suffer from it. Areas of the brain even decrease in size and activity. So no it's not an excuse or something "you just need to get over."

Anyways I've dealt with depression for nearly a decade. I've been through it all, most every drug you can list, counselors, psychiatrists, etc... For me I found following TRP more beneficial than any of those. Obviously the standard practices do work and I suggest anyone suffering from depression seek medical help. But I did find that things TRP recommends such as lifting, developing frame/stoicism, reading, developing hobbies, building a strong group of male friends, focusing on developing yourself, and of course following RP sexual and dating strategy to be more beneficial than all of those. The biggest thing was realizing a single one wasn't the solution and it took a considerable amount of time and hard work to put each practice into my life. For me medical help was short term, it helped pull me out of the worst parts and get me back on track. TRP was long term, it's what made me a better man and kept me from falling back into depression.

Right I know it's far more complex than what I'm about to say but getting over anxiety is as simple as exposing yourself on multiple occasions to the cause of your anxiety.

Depression is also hard to have when you have your finances and social life in order. Just adapt your way of thinking to a more positive accord e.g. She ignored me because she hates me becomes she ignored me because she is too busy/ didn't see me.

And

By not feeding your anxious/ negative thoughts. Feed more positive thoughts. You can either feed one or the other, the choice is yours .

The advice is identical.

"I'm short." "I'm Asian." "I have [insert mental thing]."

Whatever. Lift weights, dress and groom well, become educated, well networked, and professionally successful, make friends and be socially connected, develop useful skills and interesting hobbies, and learn and practice game.

Unless your mental health thing is "I am medically retarded. I have 55 IQ," it's just an excuse. If anything, doing everything TRP recommends helps tremendously with depression and anxiety.

Several months before taking the pill I was diagnosed with mild PDS. I'm still under treatment.

Some meds can fuck you up, making you numb as fuck. You feel like sleeping a lot. Whatever triggers your anxiety will still haunt you for some time, because there's a very fine line between taking too much meds and making you prostrated and not taking enough and having panic attacks.

Don't quit your daily routine, but take some ease on stressing things. Lifting hard CAN trigger stressful feelings together with dopamine. So keep lifting, just don't do it too much if you have to keep a stressing routine.

After the diagnostic, and finding the right meds, I've been able to cope with it very well. Took the chance to learn more about meditation, learning new stuff and taking new hobbies. Anxiety is simply your mind wanting to do shit. Keep it busy, preferably with things you enjoy, and it settles down.

You can still have a very good life perspective on TRP regardless of your mental health. Just follow your doctor's advice, and if it looks like he isn't a good doctor, get a second or even third opinion.
