The last stats I heard was that 40% of women admitted to cheating at least once in a relationship. This number is diluted by older women that have less options and grew up in a different time, and it is diluted by some cheaters not admitting it even anonymously. If you looked at a more modern cohort that has had more time to cheat (let's say all women in the US between 30 and 40 y/o) and you could get at the truth, then I'd say probably 75% have cheated at least once (especially if you strictly define cheating and include branch swinging that involves sex).

I'd say in this day and age that cheating is nearly a given.

It is her fault for cheating. Not yours. Now, you can explore this topic as to why she cheated on you for a variety of different reasons; however, the fact remains: she cheated.

It depends on how you have structured your relationship.

If you have done it the RP way, your commitment, loyalty and affections aren't granted things, they're things she has to fight for every day. In the presence of an achievable better man it's rational and legitimate for her to pursue him as she owes you nothing. So, your fault.

If you've structured it the BP way, commitment, loyalty and affections are given, they're part of the contract. In this case she owes you that, and if she denies you any of it, she's violating the contract.

The BP contract isn't bad in the paper, it's just too unnatural in an environment where women are given crazy incentive to act naturally and men to act contractually.

The best you can do is find an intelligent partner that is aware that while there are more valuable men out there, her chances to lock one are negligible, and vice versa.

Best defense is a good offense. Choose good candidates for LTRs. Continually improve yourself. Trust but verify with gf's.
