I made a post a few weeks ago, and a few of the replies suggested that I should approach 100 random women in a month. So I'm doing it. Or, I'm trying to do it. I did zero random approaches in Dec 2019. I'm trying to do 100 random approaches in January 2020. I might not make it. But I'll make a post at the end of the month and see how I did. I'm in the middle of it now. I did three approaches today. 100 approaches in a month means three or four per day. It's occupying my mind all the time. Approaching random women.

Some of the conversations have gone really well. One of them was a girl who's a grad student. 7/10. I'm a grad student too. This is happening on a college campus. And I just saw her in the bookstore, she was looking at some kind of new product, and I was just like, "Hi, what are these things?" And she said "quotable magnets" .... like quotations on a refrigerator magnet. Anyway, we ended up talking about how she's going for an MSW, and I'm going for a PhD. And then she asked for my name. And suddenly she's asking all these questions about me, and smiling, and looking me right in the eye. So, yeah, those are all good signs. Anyway... it ended with me saying "Do you wanna continue this conversation later?" and then she said "I have a boyfriend." And then I got this feeling of like, I don't wanna deal with that. I know some PUAs say you should push forward even after she says "I have a boyfriend," but I didn't.

Some of the conversations have been failures. And I feel like everyone should share their failures. Or perhaps there are no failures, only learning experiences. But anyway, sometimes you can tell within the first five to ten seconds of talking to a girl that it's not going well. Like, there was this one girl today, in a Walgreens, I was like, "Do you know if they have shampoo for men?" And she was like "I really don't know...I'm sorry" and she had this look of discomfort on her face, and she wasn't making eye contact with me. So I let it go. I walked away.

By the way, I don't like the term "cold approach." Because the word "cold" can also mean emotionally cold. And you shouldn't be cold when you approach. You should be warm! Smile at her! So I prefer to say "random approach." Or "randomly talking to people."
