It's not the end of the month yet, but I wanted to make a post. Before this month, January 2020, I was applying seduction techniques in social circles. And I never really did random approaches (cold approaches). I did them maybe once or twice a year.

But then, I made a post in this subreddit at the end of December, and one of the replies suggested 100 approaches in a month. So, on January 1 2020 I started doing it. My goal was 100 approaches in January 2020. Then, in the middle of the month, I made another post, and I shifted goals slightly. The goal is now to randomly talk to a new person every single day. And I'm doing it. Usually more than one person each day now. This is all new to me. But hey, I'm having fun with it. At first I was just approaching young women. But then I started talking to all kinds of people, guys, girls, older women, older men.

I feel like I'm learning a lot. Like, there are situations that are good for an approach and situations that are bad for an approach.

I did a few direct openers, and I'm proud of myself. Yesterday I saw a pretty woman in Target, and started off the conversation with:

"Hi. Can I tell you something? You're so pretty. And I wanted to come over here and talk to you."

So that made her smile. :) Then I moved on to:

"What are you buying today?" "Oh, I'm just buying some home goods." "Oh, that's cool, I'm buying a cell phone charger." "What do you do?" "Retail." "Oh, ok, I'm a grad student at the University of Delaware." "Oh, that's where I got my degree too."

So we were able to connect a little bit, since we both went to the same uni. This didn't end with a #close or any kind of close, I felt like the conversation didn't flow well enough for that.

Some advice to guys who are new at this: After a direct opener, you should always ask a follow-up question. In a direct opener, you're usually complimenting her looks. But then it's good to change the subject quickly, and ask a question about something besides her looks. Then you're conveying a nice message, you care about more than her looks, you want to get to know her, you want to find out what kind of person she is.

Also, the fact that I did this tells me that I'm making progress. I'm becoming bolder with my approaches. A few months ago, I wouldn't have been able to walk up to a total stranger and tell her she's pretty. But now I can. :)
