Basically, I started reading Seddit to help me get this HB I work with and asked a few questions. In reading about Kino, escalation, and humor I made a conscience decision to physically touch every person I met last night. Also, I managed to switch my attention from one HB to another while still maintaining some incidental contact with a target. And finally, I ditched the self deprecating humor all together and moved towards and absurdest self aggrandizing form that I have used in the past.

The night started at around 4 PM, an old friend from college who is back in town for good and I haven't seen her in about 8 months texted me that she was coming into the city with a friend. She was taking the 430 train into the city and wanted to meet up for drinks at around 515. I'm always down for an early drink in general because, quite frankly, I don't like crowded bars.

I'm walking to the subway at around 445 and I get a text that they missed their train and the next one would be at around 515. Instead of going home and waiting the extra time on my couch I decided to go into a bar in my neighborhood and make some friends. Essentially practicing my approach.

I walk into the bar and there are 4 people there, no bartender and 2 pairs, 3m 1f. A pair obviously on a date and the guy is seriously struggling. I literally heard him say "Places like this are why I love this neighborhood... but your's is great too!". I don't actually know if this kind of language is frowned upon but it really sounded awkward, especially in an empty bar. I decided not to spend the time on them, the girl was about a 6 (later in the night if I saw her I might have given her some attention depending on how things were going).

I am waiting for the bartender to come back from wherever he was and one of the 2 guys gets up and walks behind the bar. I immediately decide to introduce myself to him as new to the neighborhood and shake his hand. II order a beer and sit down watching the football game. He goes back to his friend and they are talking about how Wisconsin's offense is absurd (which it is). SO I strike up a conversation about football, hometowns, the BCS and these guys seem to want to hang out with me for a little longer. I tell them I have to run and jump in subway to meet these 2 HBs. Basically, in half an hour I became friends with the bartender that works on Sat. nights at a bar very close to my apartment... this can be a good thing.

So, I get to the bar about 5 minutes before the HBs and order a drink, I also make sure I learn the bartenders names and shake hands (Hey, I'm new to Kino). The two HBs walk in and my friend runs up to me and gives me a hug and a kiss which broke the ice for the other who I had only seen in passing but never cared to try.

I made sure they had seats and stood up in between them with my hands on the back of each stool to get past the first stage of the kino. Which works a lot better than I expected it to. 2 drinks in, I was calm and comfortable maintaining contact &ct. I never once used any self deprecating humor and we actually talked about my job, which apparently interests these two because they were asking advice and looked at me as an expert on certain topics.

Note, the target was never the college friend she was just helpful in facilitating an open fun feeling. Which is something I will keep in mind in the future. Chick wingmen work.

A few of our other friends show up but I had already established myself as AMOG because there two girls were interested in what I was saying, laughing at my jokes that weren't self deprecating, and forcing the actiona move to another bar.

While we are walking the target grabs my arm and just starts letting it out. Apparently she is a bit crazy so I just went with it for a while. I wasn't really interested in anything but practice so I kept right at smiling, agreeing, negging, pointing out anything remotely sexually suggestive she said. This all seemed to work great, at the 2nd bar the chick wingman tells me I can go home with the target right now if I want.

I didn't really want to. End of demo.
