Start working out if you haven't already. Hopefully in a gym, since there would be more opportunities to socialize and make friends. Exercise should help with your mental health and make you more attractive (so there isn't a reason not to apart from a disability of some kind)

I would stay away from dating apps, as I think you have more chances getting the girl in person and you would learn more from being rejected irl than swiped left, with less anxiety involved imo.

fix this first. you seem to have low self esteem and what could be interpreted as depression and anxiety effecting you. you'll be ready to move on to meeting people when you can look in the mirror and see a reason to date you.

Shyness comes from fear of rejection and judgement

Lower your expectations, not every hot girl out there will be attracted to you.

But this is ok. Meeting a sexual partner depends more on how 1) comfortable are with yourself, as a result people feel comfortable around you. If you're ok with flirting then girls will love flirting with you. 2) How good your social skills are and for this you have to learn how to talk to anyone. Doesn't matter if it's an old lady, or a guy the same age as you. 3) learning to move on if things didn't work out.

Take up an activity where you have to interact with girls. Latin dancing (Bachata and Kizumba are particularly good) , improv classes, book clubs. Don't think that you have to actually get anywhere with them romantically but just allow yourself to interact with women while you finish recovering. You'll probably find that some of the women you meet will take a shine to you which can help your self esteem

First off, good for you sorting your mental health. Based on what you said about your friends and desire to improve your conversational/social skills, I’d say a logical next starting point would be to broaden your social circle. This will not only give you the chance to meet women but also just expand your friend and gain more social support (which is important for mental health). Try meetups or classes for something that interests you (cooking, salsa dancing, yoga, wine tasting, book club, etc). Don’t forget that part of being attractive to women is having an attractive lifestyle.

Tinder/dating apps no real success and not getting matched with the girls I want to.

Dating apps will always be a desert for dudes because women are even more fickle and picky online than they are in person. You are measured on your appearance alone, and unless you've got good genes it just doesn't happen. I'm sure it can work out with some time and effort, but really you will shine better meeting someone in person.

I don’t really regard myself as eloquent, funny or charismatic all of which I need to work on but I don’t know where to begin.

Give at least one woman you see in person a day a non-sexual compliment. "Wow, I really dig the t-shirt.", "Don't you look enchanting today!". I once had a conversation with a girl about her credit card when working at a liquor store and we hit it off quite nicely.

The point though is to get yourself used to the idea of just striking casual conversation confidently with women. All of it is purposely for YOU to learn. Not to win a girls interest. Keep doing that for a while and eventually it will come easy.

Don't even worry about girls until you get your head on straight. Plenty of them to talk to out there. But you only get one brain.
