But please do not ask what her biggest fear is in the first 5 min of the interaction. Some questions need time and rapport to get asked, if you ask them too soon it will creep her out.

I think those questions are mostly pretty weird, and sometimes too direct. I like to get to know someone by being around them, not asking questions about themselves. If you’re feeling awkward, just remind yourself that awkwardness isn’t a bad thing. It’s predictable. It’s ordinary. And then just fumble your way through. I like observational conversation. Observe what she ordered to drink. Observe the settings and people around you. Tell her what you think of them or ask what she thinks of them... it doesn’t really matter. Whatever comes out of your mouth doesn’t need to perfect, or funny, or smart. Awkwardness is setting up this high bar and not knowing how to jump over it. So walk under it. “Uhh. That candle is cool.” “Yeah, it’s for sure the coolest candle I’ve seen in the past five minutes.” “I mean, I feel bad for the couple at the next table. Their candle kinda sucks. Why don’t you go over there and tell them their candle sucks?” “Well maybe you should go tell them since you’re the expert?” It’s not what you say.... it’s how relaxed and carefree you are when you say it. In order to be relaxed and carefree, you have to be OK with awkwardness. If you run from awkwardness it will chase you. If you have severe social anxiety, sure, maybe lean on some lines. But if you’re mildly anxious like anyone on a first date, those lines just reinforce the false notion that awkwardness is bad, and that you have to be “good” at conversation, and that the flow of conversation rests entirely on your shoulders, and all that pressure is what creates the awkward in the first place.

This is my infallible method:

1) /Start with today./ How was your day? What happened? What did you or didn’t you like? How’s your job, hobbies, home life, sleep, passtimes, friends, family?

2) /Pay attention to their responses — naturally./ Based on their responses, you know what things you can categorize as positive or negative for them.

3) /Use your knowledge to comfort and entertain them./ So, why do you like this activity? Why did your friend’s reaction to this upset/excite you? Now why would your mom ever say something like that?

Just talk. Talk about /nothing/: it will turn into something, guaranteed. Start easy, it works every time.

These are good suggestions if your goal is to build comfort. If you have to ask any of these, she doesn’t wanna fuck you... yet. Maybe not ever. You don’t wanna be friends first. You risk getting stuck being her friend and nothing more. I would not recommend this for someone trying to bed her asap.

All my dates I used to talk at least one week in whatsapp, with audios and many many subjects to the point I don't feel to be akward the first date! And the girl must feel as comfortable as I am and it goes sooo smooth.

I am used to comment about something in the environment which leads for more stories.

"French fries? My favourite food, I have a funny story with potatoes, when I was 10..."

So now I can talk about food, recipes and childhood derping
