So I've been reading this stuff for a couple years very casually and I admit it has helped in a lot of areas of my life. But I'm still terrified of approaching strangers. I only just discovered seddit a month ago, and you guys have reignited my enthusiasm with your awesome field reports and encouraging comments.

Right here, now, by writing this down, I am making a commitment in front of you guys. Tomorrow night, Wednesday 7th Feb 2012, will be a turning point in my life. Tomorrow night, I am going out alone. I am going to spend a couple hours (work the next day) at a nearby bar for student night. I am going to have heaps of fun just going around talking to people, making random friends and getting rejected. I am going to learn to talk to people I don't know. I'm going to talk to the first person or group I see. Every time I fear talking to people, I am going to push through it and just do it. I will get blown out, and I will let that pass and move on to somebody else. My only goal is to have heaps of fun and meet heaps of people.

Many cheers will be had, many high fives will be given and many awkward moments will be shared. I will overcome some of my fear of approaching strangers. I will aim for the 'Fuck It' epiphany that so many others here have had and stop caring so much about what people think. Most importantly, this is a step toward making a positive change in my life by actually doing something rather than thinking about it. This is my life, from now on I'm going to own it. Fuck yeah.

P.S. I'm taking part in No Fap February. I must say after seven days dry that has been a huge motivator for me to make this step haha.

Edit: OK guys, the universe has been conspiring to give me as many excuses as possible not to do this today, but I'm still heading out! Very much filled with excitement and nerves. Actually mostly nerves. Just about to leave now, see you on the other side! Thanks for your encouragement!
