Any advice on dance floor interactions?

Tyler/Owen from RSD pretty much covered this in one of his videos. Makes a huge load of sense, especially considering I went to a party, tried some of the stuff he spoke about subconsciously and when I got home and ran the nights interactions in my head, and then watched the video again, it made more sense and became clearer. (I spent more time listening to the music in the background, especially the ending part, than listening to what Tyler was saying, but I guess I absorbed some of what he said. If ANYONE knows what songs are playing, please let a brother know.)

The biggest thing is that you need to be into the music and dancing. If you love country music, go to a country bar and do some line dancing. If you like hip-hop, go to a club and do the two-step. The biggest problem a lot of people have is being uncomfortable. They don't care about the music, they're not into it, and it fucks up their energy. Go out there and dance your ass off, sing along to the music, etc... Fucking rage. You don't need to say anything to girls.

I'm currently hooking up with a girl I met on the dance floor like this. I looked over and we locked eyes. I went over to her and just danced with her a bit, singing along to the music and being goofy. Started putting my hands on her and escalating the kino, then pulled her home. If you're out there having fun, you give off an insane amount of positive energy and people will be drawn to it. You initiating kino with a girl at this stage isn't weird. It's completely natural. The only reason kino is every "creepy" is because it comes from the wrong energy. If you're not "vibing" with your environment, it will show in your inner and outer game, and that'll send big red flags to any girl in the club.

I plan on making a post on dancing for beginners im no expect PUA but by observing and participating in dance floor game I think people like you would benefit from it.

I just get out there and grab one by the hand. Some are down, some aren't, but you'll be surprised by how many are receptive. Also, having a great wingman to imitate helps. I didn't know what I was doing at first but my friends did and showed me. Also alcohol helps me not worry about being seen as creepy, if I worried about stuff like that then is never dance with girls.

Something I've found is that if you want to see if a woman is interested, try to make eye contact with her. Once your eyes meet, she will either a) hold eye contact and smile or b) look away. If you hold the eye contact, it will express your interest in the woman, and if she likes it, she will reciprocate. If she is interested, she'll often smile at you and come over to introduce herself.

First off, if you're even thinking that something you do might be creepy, it's going to make what you're doing, creepy. That and approaching from behind: don't do that, either.

Second, how do you gauge interest? Well, start with eye contact. You can't be scared of it. When I'm dancing, I take in the whole crowd and play with everybody in the beginning. Except then I inevitably make eye contact with a girl..... at which time I hold it until I get an IOI or not.

But I'm not just talking about simply looking and getting IOIs. The cool thing is, you can have a conversation with eye contact and facial expressions alone. If you get comfortable and confident with it (which can come with reference experiences), you can have non-verbal conversations that lead to you convincing the girl to come to you OR getting her to beckon you to her. (Either one is fine, though I often enjoy the girls that have the confidence to come to you.)

Once you're next to them, dancing on the floor...... well damn, you're on a dance floor, not at a church. It's pretty much a game of "gradually move in closer and closer until you see how far you can push it". (A.K.A., straight up kino escalation, no talking required.) Once I'm next to a girl, especially if she came to me, it's pretty likely that she's going to be up for some kind of close. Overall, as long as you are listening/paying attention to her responses to your actions (and staying out of your head!), you will be fine.

Only approach from the front or side. Never approach from behind.

I've been experimenting with a few different things. I've been using the Simple Pick Up technique recently to good effect :

Approaching a Girl in a Loud Setting Now what I’m about to tell you is pretty strong. It’s something I learned while experimenting with whistles when I was younger. It’s a tactic that involves your thumb, your index finger, and your mouth.

You approach the hot girl and begin talking. She’ll automatically stare at you because she’ll have no idea what the hell you’re talking about: the music is too loud.

So what you do is take your index finger against the outside of her ear, and then cover her earhole with your thumb. Once your index finger and thumb is placed softly on her ear, you put your mouth about a few centimeters away from your thumb and begin talking.

You don’t have to scream or yell, just talk normally.

What happens?

She’ll be able to hear you with clarity. Basically, she’ll hear your voice and nothing else. I have no idea why this works; what matters is she is able to listen to your remarks and be amazed about your technical move. source

Anyway, I've been field testing this technique with this approach and have had really good results:

Grab girls attention, get close due to noise, initiate aforementioned kino, "I'm in a bit of a predicament. My girl I was dancing with wants me to leave with her, but I just want to dance. Come with me." Initiate swing/techno dancing, a little bit of both really keeps the interaction fun until I get her off the dance floor and get some talking time.

On the dance floor your best bet to see if a girl is into you are IOI's (Indicators of Interest). It's not really something I do, because I much prefer to just go and approach, but search around and you'll find plenty of stuff on IOI's and how to use them.

The ideal would be to talk to the girl on the dancefloor and then dance with her, but we all know how hard it is to hear anything in clubs, so I don't blame you.

I think the best thing to do is spend some time in a non-dancing area, talk to a girl and tell her you want to go dance.

To piggy back on this: does anyone have tips specifically for concert-type venues (versus club-type venues) where girls are there more for the music than to socialize?

As an example of why the difference is significant: you can close in a club whenever things are going well, but most girls aren't going to want to leave a concert before it's over.

Other people have put forward good tips, so I'll state a major don't. DON'T be that guy that walks up behind a girl and stands there creepily. We've all seen him, roughly three feet away. Unsure of whether to say anything or just dance it out by himself. Either way, she will notice, her friends will notice, and so will other girls. Work up the courage to hit the dance floor or take your time getting comfortable and in state before you go out there, but don't awkwardly stand there trying to figure yourself out.

I see a lot of responses here, about approaching her when she locks eye contact and stuff, but how do you approach dancing in a circle with their friends? You see that a lot in European clubs nowadays and it makes it hard to open from the front.

Go up to any girl, ask "wanna dance". That's it really. At least it works for me.
