I´d like to share my story for a second, it won´t take long. I´m a pretty social guy (I mean, I know how to ask good questions or how to keep a conversation going) but I can be quite introverted and awkward around people; I'm constantly thinking about my body language, what I should say, how people perceive me, etc.

Anyway, this week I decided to 'sail away from the safe harbor' (Mark Twain) and decided to approach people randomly. I did this after reading the exercise in The Game by Neil Strauss. I approached one girl on the street asking her for clothing advice (didn't lead to anything) and I asked a girl out that I met on the street. I thought that this girl was pretty hot and interesting, and after we talked for about 5 minutes I asked her if she wanted to grab a cup of coffee later or something. She told me she thought it was quite sweet of me to ask but she already had a boyfriend. Anyway, not the best results, but I feel good nonetheless. I got out of my comfort zone and tried some new things for a change; it makes me feel like I'm alive and that I should be proud of challenging myself.

So for anyone who's still in doubt about approaching girls - or in doubt of doing anything for that matter - because of fear, I say: DO IT. FUCKING DO IT ALREADY. The results do not matter; you'll feel good about yourself for doing it, regardless of the outcome. Live a little. Take some risks. You'll be proud of yourself for doing it.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain
