Since men are primarily driven visually with attraction, we tend to fall for women more quickly. If the woman is attractive, we often to want to pursue a relationship, if even if we don’t know her well, or might not have the same values. We want to force things that sometimes shouldn’t be forced.
Women, on the other hand, are slower to trust. It typically takes them longer to develop a deeper level of attraction, and have a willingness to open themselves emotionally.
Their primary attraction driver is how the other person makes them feel, not necessarily how they look, even though looks still matter.
Although this doesn’t apply one hundred percent of the time, women usually aren’t the ones who emotionally invest too early, it’s the men.
Even if they feel a spark in the initial stages, they will sometimes go cold, while the man will largely overlook some minor potential turnoffs. Women are more sensitive to these turnoffs because they vet men’s personalities more throughly.
Whether it is deliberate or not, women seek out the most dependable, self-assured men. They want to see if their potential partner will buckle, or will stay the course if they don’t get constant validation.
Since men invest emotionally quicker and the demonstrated behavior from the woman isn’t as much as factor, we make the fatal flaw of projecting our attraction onto them, and become needy and unnatural in the process.
When we put women on a pedestal and view them as mythical creatures, not humans, we forget basic rules of behavior.
We assume that women operate under a different set of fundamental attraction rules, when in reality both men and women operate under the same basic principles. We both hate neediness and desperation.
Assume you are attracted to a woman, but unsure whether or not you want to pursue anything with her.
She begins to exhibit the following behaviors:
Acts nervous or unnatural around you. Agrees with everything you say, and doesn’t exhibit opinions of her own.
Constantly tells you how handsome/attractive you are in general terms, and how she’s thinks you’re out of her league
Asks you if you’re ok if you’re simply quiet or there’s a pause in the conversation
Talks about herself in a blatant attempt to impress you
Constantly makes jokes or tries to be funny, doesn’t have emotional maturity to take anything seriously
Sends large text messages proclaiming feelings or deep attraction after only a few dates
Sends angry or insulting texts if you don’t respond within a day or few hours
If you knew she fantasized or made a decision about a serious relationship with you after only meeting a few times
These are just some of the behaviors that we exhibit towards women, but in the haze of our neediness, don’t see how unattractive they truly are.
We’ve been conditioned to believe that unwavering dedication is what attracts women, when the opposite is true.
So always ask yourself, whether you are just getting to know someone, or are in a relationship —if she exhibited MY behavior, would I be turned off?
