Just writing this to get this off my chest.
I've been wondering to myself recently why it's seems so much harder to approach during day compared to night. At first I thought it was because of the high energy enviroment compared to the low calmer energy, or the fact that at night people are more willing to meet new people.
The difference is alcohol most of the time (for beginners like me at least).
"No shit Sherlock" you guys must be thinking right?
Pardon me if this sounds obvious but I never thought deep enough to figure out the reasoning behind this. Today I hit a eureka moment and would like to share my thoughts on why I think AA appears a lot stronger during the day.
You're over thinking the approach
Alcohol gives you confidence because it stops you from being able to rationalise the approach, makes you think less and makes you do more. During day game beginners like me think "Oh there's a girl who's cute, I wanna approach her. But oh fuck, here comes AA". But this can be a problem for some people for other things than approaching.
I am VERY introverted, being Asian and at the same time a Computing student (stereotypical nerd) and I find myself feeling very awkward in social situations such as ordering food etc.
Remember the good old Mystery Method days where he came up with something called the 3 second rule well that's exactly that its there for (yeah again no shit sherlock, but I'm trying to make a point).
Example of overthinking
There's a shop on my university campus and there are a few cute girls who work on the till. Every time I try to start a conversation with them but I choke up and don't say anything during the last second. Today I wasn't even thinking of making conversation, I was just happy to get my sandwich and out of no where I just said "Hello, how are you?" and the girl seemed surprised that I even took time out of my day to ask how she was. She obviously liked that I said something to her rather than stand in silence and pay for my food and fuck off, and even if it didn't lead to anything it still brightened her day up as she cracked a really big smile over the fact that I spoke to her girls are down to talk to you, they're not all nasty people.
I watched a video that AFCAdam made about approach anxiety and he said that he had students who couldn't even ask for directions to the nearest Starbucks because they were so scared to even ask a simple normal question to a girl. Had that guy just thought in his head "Oh AFCAdam wants a coffee, I'm just gonna ask the next girl for directions" he wouldn't have even been scared to because it's perfectly normal to ask for directions right?
The poor guy was so caught up with wanting results or a close to the point where he's made his own fears worst than they should be.
My advice to those who are scared to approach during the day
If you're like me, who struggle for a full blown approach leading to a close during the day then just simply don't bother trying to close. Don't even bother running to a girl that you walked past to you, if you're really that scared.
But my main advice is to talk to ALL GIRLS, start a conversation with them.
"Hi, how are you?" is all you need, this is great for people like me who struggle to keep a conversation going, you will get experience and you will learn to think quickly off your feet during conversation.
At first it will be hard, you will run out of things to say and it will be awkward. But then you learn to adapt quicker, and also you don't always have to fill in the awkward silences. This is a conversation consisting of TWO people, you and her. She should also be contributing, but if you're there blabbing non-stop then you're doing all the work for her!
If you're an introvert like me this will make you much less socially awkward and the feeling you from just talking to a random girl and having a normal conversation like human beings is best feeling ever when you've been socially awkward for nearly all your life!
TL;DR
The fear of approach usually comes from over thinking, learn to not think so much about it and do it. Your fear may be due to thinking too far ahead to the close when you're not ready to. Try to have a simple conversation with a load of different girls to get you used to talking to random girls. Get conversational experience and ease your way to other aspects of game!
Good luck friends :)
