I think shit tests are a thing, but I think most guys have the completely wrong view. So I was into learning night game back with MM was a big thing.

The thing a lot of people don't understand today is congruence, and that's where shit tests come in. Also seems like a lot of people completely misunderstood the concept of frame too, and that's part of it.

I think a lot of guys try to use the really gimmicky/gamey type PUA stuff, and women intuitively know that isn't their natural personality. That's where real shit tests are. A lot of dudes go full autist and think everything is a shit test.

Many of the various threads I read and respond to in the various ask subs, are absolutely oozing with neediness. The biggest fix most of those guys need is internal. You can't actually fake most of the qualities that make you attractive.

I agree in the sense that shit tests are just banter/teasing. However, isn’t it possible that a woman can be saying this for the purpose of seeing how you would react (ex: humor, anger, validation of yourself, etc)? It would be different from banter, in which the purpose is to have fun and create emotional connection

I would disagree with what you are saying about tests, and I would encourage men to understand and think about them.

Emotional techniques in conversation are just as useful as assertive techniques.

Understanding emotional techniques is key in being successful at dating and relationships.

Tests are just attempts at emotional control to understand strength of character in a man. As a man you can also use emotional techniques, of which the most basic and well known are "negs", which I consider rather simplistic and generally not that useful. "Negs" do however, showcase the basic idea of how emotions are used in conversation if a man was to go on the offensive. In other words, when you respond with a belligerent response to a test you are just moving the focus of emotion.

I will give you one basic example which is similar to a "neg":

Using the OPs example, She looks at you and says:

"You're ridiculous with your “peacocking” attempt",

A possible response would be a question:

"Are you always so emotional?"

IRL, in my experience, what you will find is both questions are not answered, and all that is happening is a redirection of emotional focus.

Instinctual tests from women are only to provoke an emotional response. They are not looking for an answer and do not have a planned part B. Because they reactionary, redirecting the conversation has no real repercussions. It's more like emotional combat rather than seeking information. If you are skilled at conversation you can use emotional techniques yourself. I use scripting to understand the most effective response to most tests.

Context is very important in how to respond to a test, and ranges from silence, to redirecting the conversation, asking a question, or making a statement that is meant to provoke an emotional response.

I have found the more a woman is interested in you the quicker and more intense the tests. Tests also provide a kind of guidepost as to what is motivating her desires. So, they are valuable in this regard.

If you emotionally mature, you can recognize emotions in yourself and others, and you can act on them in an effective manner to get what you want in conversation.

If someone teases you (maybe because you’re already teasing them), beat them at their game, show you’re confident and smart as much (if not more) than them. If you can’t, then that wasn’t a shit test, it just was you unable to handle that kind of interaction with those people.

Sounds like a good way to pass shit tests
