I’ve seen a lot of comments and posts mentioning “shit test(s)” to describe every reaction (or rejection) from girls/women.
Mystery coined this term to indicate when a girl/woman “tests” your frame by metaphorically throwing some “shit” at you to see if you react coherently.
However, I think this is (mostly, not all) bullshit. What if you frame it as just them teasing you? MM used “negs” (another bullshit term to indicate childish insults to lift your value by de-valuing others), so why she can’t reply the same way?
What if she’s just rude (and/or exasperated) and tells you that you’re ridiculous with your “peacocking” attempt?
Even worse: what if you’re misinterpreting a rejection into a shit test? Usually, people has many ways to say “NO”, it goes from “I have a boyfriend”/“I can’t see chemistry” up to “I’m busy”/“You’re not my type”/etc...
If someone teases you (maybe because you’re already teasing them), beat them at their game, show you’re confident and smart as much (if not more) than them. If you can’t, then that wasn’t a shit test, it just was you unable to handle that kind of interaction with those people.
If someone throws real shit at you, you have few effective choices (also depends by context and situation):
- have the wit to reply something funny back, like agree & exaggerate, etc...
- take it easy and move on
- you might call them out (again, depending by situation), but always in a polite way and only if it makes sense: remember you don’t owe anything to each other. So consider how much fucks they would give to what you want to say, before investing your time and energy to deliver your “calling them out”. Sometimes silence speaks louder than shouting, sometimes they just won’t give a fuck.
