Wondering what you guys think about this topic.

Last week went on a very strange “date”. Im a gringo living in Mexico City right now, and there are some weird cultural differences Ive been getting used to.

For instance, Ive been now on a few first “dates” where I am invited to hang out with a big group of their friends. PDA is very acceptable here, which has been strange because Im used to private dates and not kissing / making out in front of their friends.

Anyway, this date was one of those: she invited meo it with a group of friends, one of which very clearly was trying to get with her. Now, this is my first time meeting any of them.

He would be handsy with her, whisper in her ear etc. She kept looking like she was trying to get away from him, and shed come back to me and show some attention / affection.

Ive been in some weird situations over the years and didn’t really know what to do. I wanted to hook up with her, but at the same time, Im 100% not the type of person to fight for someone’s attention. My attitude was more or less, ”She will choose whoever she chooses”.

That’s how I proceeded with the night, after all, I literally knew nobody in this group. Well, as the night went on, that guy ended up more on her than me. Everybody went home and me and her didnt really talk again.

For all I know that was her ex or somebody she has hooked up with before. For all I know, she only had me come out to make him jealous!

Anyway! I know these situations happen, and wonder what you all do in these scenarios? I feel like I may have actually had a chance to “win” her over, but it just felt too awkward.
