Hey, all - I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. I have some big inner game issues and am looking for some practical advice on how to finally get my shit together.
Brief back-story: I've been in a big slump to say the least for the past 2 or years. Been in an out of a few relationships/flings and I always seem to catch oneitis syndrome with the girls I dated/slept with. This ultimately led to bouts of depression when things did not work out. (Ended up going to therapy for a bit and was told I suffered from co-dependency.) It has especially hit me on the most recent girl I was involved with and despite actively searching how to overcome it, I can't seem to shake it.
Last year, I discovered resources like seddit, TRP, RSD, Mark Manson, etc. and my eyes were opened. It made me realize how much of a "nice guy", AFC, supplicating pussy I had been in the past.
By applying some of the principles I had learned, I was able to snag a girl who I ended up in a fling with - this turned into a long distance deal when she moved away. She was on the rebound and did not want to commit to anything, which I was initially okay with but I overestimated my ability to not get emotionally invested. She was very infatuated with me for the first couple months, but as you may imagine, it did not work out. In hindsight, I realized that despite my new-found knowledge, I had likely still been acting like a boring, supplicating nice guy and did mostly everything on her terms.
I'm an accomplished, good looking, and desirable guy with a bright future ahead. There have always been girls expressing interest in me, but I can never act on it because of terrible inner game/confidence and the compounded depression from failing with previous women. I have a terrible habit of getting involved with manipulative women, blaming myself for my own failings, and then being constantly caught up with a want to change an unchangeable past.
Because of my regret, I have terrible oneitis for the most recent girl who has long since moved on. I cannot get her out of my head, and I keep rehashing the situation with a "coulda, shoulda, woulda" mindset.
Because of my confidence issues, failings, as well as difficulty emotionally connecting with people, I feel like less of a man. I'd really like to get out there and play the field, but I always hold back because of a negative inner voice telling me that I don't have enough to offer.
Any advice on how to get a handle of this would be much appreciated.
