There is zero requirement to bend the truth or lie about your intentions. Be completely honest and upfront and you will save your time and her time. Every single time I have been upfront it has either led to fun or she has appreciated my honesty and moved on. By bending the truth or outright lying you are wasting everyone's time and you are missing out on women who want EXACTLY what you want. Do not do it. You are interacting with another human being and an equal. Treat her as such.

no, there are women who want to have sex with men that they want to have sex with and repulsed by men who they dont want to have sex with proposing sex to them.
[–]Everyman1000 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If a woman continues to see you after the first date, I would be curious if she was truly repulsed by you

This sub isn't about spreading your personal morals, it's about helping people. This guy asked on advice for getting FWB/hookups. Some of what you said is blatantly untrue: there are absolutely scenarios where a girl will not hookup if you tell her you don't plan on dating her.
[–]anicknameyo 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Yeah but why manipulate someone into having sex with them by lying? Just be direct and tell her, then move on or have a good time depending on her reaction.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
Bruh don't downvote me. I didn't advocate either side. I told him the truth. No one should let their personal morals get in the way of telling someone the truth. Then they make their own decision based on that information.

Re-read your comments. You advocate telling OP the truth. I am advocating he tell women the truth. You and I are both arguing for honesty. We both support the truth.
Nothing to do with morals or ethics. Just telling the truth about your intentions.

Because like 80% of the guys on here are tired of being the nice guy, can't even talk to girls, yet are at least trying for help. I'm going to help them before I go trying to help random bar women or whatever. And I won't get on my soapbox about it.
[–]upsafetynextchapter 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I understand you want to help guys. I want to help them too but a friend of mine told me some very wise advice. He said: "Don't be a nice guy. Be a good man." That resonated with me a lot. There is a lot of wisdom out there on this subreddit and in the wider world but lying, cheating and creeping your way through this world is not how to go about it. There is no point lying about your intentions. It is as simple as that. Be charming and funny and confident and all the other great things, but there is no point manipulating people. You can be a good man without being a nice guy. Nice guy is not what anyone really wants. We need more good men instead.

Well you need to be very attractive and find somebody that is attracted to you. You should ask what they want and if it’s to be friends with benefits and that’s what you want you go for it. There is no certain technique to this

Women will categorize men into either a lover or partner frames. There's only a brief period of limbo. You can influence where you're placed. It's also possible to go from one to the other. However, the transition from partner to lover is harder.
At a high level, my philosophy is what you offer as your value proposition and context. If you offer value as you're intelligent, successful, family oriented, have a lot to offer in terms of stability/providing safety/comfort, etc. you're going to be in a dating frame. If your value is your ability to spike her emotions, make her chase, etc. you're going to be more in the lover.
You can't really offer 100% of your value as one or the other. However, the ratio likely determines where you're going to get placed.
Context is also important. If you meet a girl at a bar and you find out she's visiting on vacation, even if the value you offer is more dating oriented - you might be cast into a lover category just due to simple practical reality. It's also possible that you lead with emotionality, but she's more interested in what you have to offer as value.

Just be real. If you why a fwb then tell her that's what you want. There may be a chance she'll reject you. No problem. It's better to find the girl that will do what you want rather than lie, and have her go bar shit crazy because you lied. (Trust me on this one)

Tell her your intentions when she asks
[–]spacemangoes 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
If a girl perceives you has a high value, she’ll most likely doesn’t care if you say you just want fwb. If you don’t want to lie, increase your value

Reasons why im goin to school
[–]dobbs1997 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think going to school increases your value, I think he meant your value as a man..& that comes from the internal not the external
[–]idkbbitswatev 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have plenty of value in my character, but I also literally need something to offer which is why im getting a career, that has value
[–]dobbs1997 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yah for sure get that done, but also make sure you work on your character, many guys make the mistake of thinking building up their value only comes from the external. Just hit on all cylinders and you’ll be good.
[–]Everyman1000 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Can you elaborate, do you mean confidence and charisma?
Yes & someone of strong character, good leadership, stoic, be a man who can provide value and that doesn’t have to mean money or gifts.
[–]OkNefariousness9758 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Basically always be honest. The only way you win or lose depends on the woman. Someone will want a fwb and some won't.
[–]Majestic_Meal_5655 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bro just be honest. They are in or out. Next

It’s also possible OP finds it difficult to date someone and then call it quits when you find out you aren’t that into them. At least I do.
I wanna get better at defining what I like, if I date someone and decide I’m not into it, not feeling bad ending the relationship which is completely avoided if someone agrees to sex with a relationship.
[–]MacAmmond -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Tell them to call you next time they're in the mood.
Ie. Next ovulation cycle
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What's the obsession with not lying? Or at least avoiding certain topics?
[–]dobbs1997 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No, you’d be surprised, a lot of women just wanna have sex but dudes these days don’t know what FWB is cause they tell a chick that’s what they want but then they end up giving her boyfriend energy which in turn may make her want a relationship..Take note, if you’re fwb with a girl, it is ONLY sex, only text to set up meet ups for sex, no seeing eachother to do things besides sex, no spending the night, no cuddling, all that relationship stuff…
This is the most risk averse way to do FWBs , however you need to be someone who is pretty sexual experienced and comfortable for her to accept this consistently. Otherwise she loses interest and would rather spend time with someone who does the dating stuff.
Like the sex you offer should be something she cant have anywhere else. But if its vanilla and you just do some plain pumping and dumping and maybe some oral here and there. Nah.

When you say date do you mean to go out often or actually be in a relationship
Be in a relationship
