If you don’t want to be friendzoned then you need to escalate physically. When you see her start off with a hug. Then throughout the night make friendly physical contact when you can. A touch on the shoulder here or touch on the hand there will help a lot. Depending on the venue you can put your hand on her lower back when guiding her or listening to her. Hopefully you end the night by going in for a kiss. In my eyes a good date is only when it ends with a kiss at the very least.

If this is a coffee date keep it short. No longer than 30 min. and tell her you have an appointment. Use this as an opportunity to actually see if you like her. Listen to her and try to get to know her interests and then quietly assess to yourself if you want to go on a date with her. If so, set a dinner date or something up in the evening. Do not get handsy on a coffee date.

You don’t have to be on the top of your game. Just do the best you can. Try to keep your emotions in check.

If you approach it as, “I’m just going to have a good time, I’m not expecting anything to happen” then that helps a lot with the nerves. I tell myself that before every date I go on and it 100% works for me.
