Free attention and validation. You make them feel good by being there at there every need or beckon. It’s that simple

You asked why she wants to be your friend that’s why she wants to be your friend. Try to hang out with her like you do with your other friends, I bet she won’t do it. She’ll just keep you around to know that she has options. She won’t ever do anything with you like she would with her actual friends. You seem young though try it out and you’ll see you get no benefit from it whatsoever

Because you confessed your love for her and she doesn’t see you like that. If she hangs out with you you’re going to become more attached and won’t stop bugging her and she’ll have to break your heart again. Trust me, try it

1) Liberal men are weaklings, and they come off as unattractive. Stop that immediately. A literal neo-nazi will sooner bang a feminist chick than a leftist 'ally' will bang a conservative woman.
2) Women must always see themselves as the good guy. Telling you they still want to be friends makes them feel better about themselves
3) In some cases, they don't even want to 'be friends' in the traditional sense of the word. Rather, they want to continue receiving free attention from you in exchange for nothing, usually in moments when they are bored.
Have some self respect. It sounds like you have made a habit around pussyfooting around, being as non threatening and 'nice' as possible, and then your 'move' is to confess your feelings (gross and effeminate). Stop doing all of the above.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't disagree with the self respect thing but your "liberal men are weaklings" is fucking bullshit. Like way to categorize a whole group of people.
Serious question. Are you a Trumpist? Are you the kind of person that shoves their politics down everyone's throats?
Stop doing that. It makes you a fucking obnoxious douchebag.

I think she has a point, pal. She liked you and you had no clue and when you made a move it was too late.
Also the fact that she wants a formal relationship and you just want it to be casual is a big difference in goals. If you don't want her for anything serious then keep it that way: as friends. Don't be an a*hole (no offense).
Given your differences and what she already exposed to you, I think that having her as a friend is still a win.

Girls enjoy having male friends, that's why they feiendzone guys. If you don't wanna be her friend then just put some space between you two. If you only want her for sex and she only wants you as a friend then its gonna be an uncomfortable interaction. Not worth it for any of the two.
Do they move on? Yeah. As soon as she meets someone who caughts her eye. The only reason they have a hard time moving on is when they deeply fall for someone, that shiet lasts for years, even if they had a bad experience. It is said that women never forget their first love.
The truth: men and women arent that different in that apartment. The difference is that men tend to confuse love with their sex urges, while women, who produce more oxytocin, are more likely to experience greater limmerance, which makes them have a more difficult time to move on when they find someone who they consider really really special.
In your case it seems that she'll move on. However, don't be surprised if you two stop talking and, after some time, she comes back trying to get your attention, then you'll have a chance.

Women like attention from men and they don’t like being the bad guy. So they offer you friendship instead.

They say no to dating and sex. But, you’re still free to give her attention and validate her.

No, women have girlfriends and boyfriends. If you’re not f*cking her, you’re a girlfriend to her. She’ll treat you as such.
And yes men and women have different notions of friendships.
[–]Fluffy_Risk9955 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Yes, this is the frame of situations like this.
[–]Fluffy_Risk9955 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Her arguments don’t matter. Women don’t communicate overtly. Instead, watch her behavior. She’s not having sex with you and she is treating you like a girlfriend.

Here’s a new flash - a girl who says she wants to be friends after rejecting you isn’t really your friend. Lemme ask you - has any girl that said she wanted to be friends actually hung out with you? If the answer is no, there’s your answer. It’s just for free validation and attention. That means you gotta cut ties with her or just distance yourself from her at the very least.

She likes you as a friend, that’s why she wants to be friends. If that’s not good enough for you, then don’t be friends with her.

Well, it sounds like she gave you PLENTY of reasons why she isn’t into you like that and doesn’t want to date. She doesn’t see you as a compatible life partner, and she isn’t ready for another relationship.

Did you put yourself in the friendzone because you didn't have the courage to tell her you liked her? If you did, that's why she's not attracted to you, because you weren't open with your intentions.
You shouldn't feel bad about it. Instead, you can work on developing a more confident and assertive personality.

Keep working on yourself.
Also, create more sources of joy other than relationships. I realized recently that I was hoping a relationship would provide all the joy and happiness I want.
This puts a lot of pressure on finding someone and on the person you find.
On the other hand, the more things we have that bring us joy, the less pressure there is on finding someone. And being more laid back tends to work in your favor.
[–]AntTheMighty 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
i just wish she told me why she actually wasn't into me
She did you just don't want to accept them. Why do you think she's lying? Those are reasonable reasons for not wanting to date someone.
[–]GlitteringPause8 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
uhhh no lmfao wtf. There are plenty of guys I find HOT AF but refuse to date because their lifestyles are incompatible with mine (values, too introverted, etc)
[–]GlitteringPause8 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
haha how old are you? That is definitely not true...maybe when you are young and immature but once you're older and more serious about finding a life partner, it is not true at all.
[–]GlitteringPause8 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
oof and there you go.
[–]GlitteringPause8 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
bro she gave you a whole list of reasons and they sound like very legitimate reasons as to incompatibility. none of it is ambiguous
[–]GlitteringPause8 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
idk why you're confused. She likes you as a friend so she wants to be friends. Like...what's the confusion
[–]GlitteringPause8 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
why not....she likes you as a friend.
[–]mamisorrymamisorry 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don’t be friends with someone you can’t separate your feelings for. You’ll only hurt yourself. If you feel like maybe then go for it but you might just be prolonging the inevitable. I hope this makes sense.
Also a comment I’ve seen here is that it’s your looks. She said she liked you before which means that she found you attractive. People can lose feelings (thankfully). Its just that simple.

I have become good friends with several women who I dated and rejected me. And in turn they introduce me to their single friends and tell them how great I am. Not everyone is going to like you and attraction may come and go. Just live in the moment and enjoy whatever relationship you form with people, wether it’s platonic or not. If you don’t want to be friends with her then don’t, no one is forcing you. I thought I could remain friends with my ex but ended up not working out so I let her go.
