Work the room with everyone. Do something cool, memorable , or relatable. Eventually if you’re doing good people will gravitate towards you and want to stick around longer. I would never be the guy who latched to a woman he’s interested in unless you discuss that with her such as a date. Otherwise be free have fun and mingle

It depends. If the girl has rapport with me and "needs" me or feel somewhat left out I just stay with her until she builds some rapport with someone at the party then I'd excuse my self and check on her occasionally to see if she's okay. If we barely know each other and she seem pretty socially cool with it than I just jump around chatting and fuck with her once in a while.

Talk to everyone, man or woman. Branch out into conversations, talk to random people about weird things like their shirt logo or just anything to start a conversation. Be fun. I for example sometimes use the fact that I'm a "palm reader" to break the ice and from then people line up for me to read their palms. Be interesting, confident, and observant.
Also drink a lot, especially if there's free vodka there.

The literal best thing you can do is not think about it and have fun.
People like fun people. They don't like when people have an agenda or seem to be putting on a show to get noticed or be seen as cool.
By far the most effective way to garner attention is to just be genuinely having a good time.
Notice who you notice at parties. It's usually because of that.

how do you get invited to these sorts of parties?
I'd like to get onto that scene but not many people I know throw these types.

You should escalate things physically and have sexual before anything else. For that you need to flirt with the girl in the party, isolate her so you two and her are kinda alone, and make out and bring her home. After that you can start seeing each other more times in dates.
You should definitely not try to get close to a girl if you haven’t kissed her first at the very least because then you will be frienfzoned
