Get into a service business in which you visit them at their homes. If they become a "repeat" customer they will get to know you. If there is any sign of friendliness (especially an offer of something to drink, like wine, after the work is complete) then you may have an "in." Be careful, though, I know a guy who got shut out of one communitybecause in his head he thought every female client, married or not, was attracted to him. He said and/or did inappropriate things and word got around. No personal experience with this, but supposedly volunteering can be a good avenue for meeting people. A lot of times, well-to-do women have so much time on their hands and they love giving back to the community. Find fundraisers and locally-focused organizations where you'll be rubbing elbows with them. Last few good relationships were with older gals who were pretty well off. Except for one of them, I actually waited until they made a move. The woman I'm seeing now invited me to dine by the water one warm June evening last year. There was some very mild flirtation back when her husband was alive. A year after he passed away the heat turned up a bit during two subsequent business visits - but just a bit. The June dinner was the first romantic interlude. She paid for our dinner, and again the next time we went there, but it has been dutch dating ever since. So... I'm not by any means a "kept man" but she warmly welcomes me to her house. I build fires for us while we snuggle by the couch, and she serves us wine and cheese or makes us both dinner. Makes killer omelettes in the morning. I'm perfectly happy with that. Physically we're unbelievably in sync. She's told me she can't be with someone if it's limited to only physical intimacy. That said, I struggle with the fact that I'm not nearly as experienced, well-off or sophisticated as her or the people in her social circles. I guess she has accepted me for who and what I am already, but I feel like I need to find a way to add more value or else she'll get bored and walk away.

Question for you and anyone else that may have an experienced answer..
How does her paying end up happening? I'm used to $25 or cheaper dates. But if you're dining by the water, and at a fine restaurant, that can run you up to $60-$70+ or even more.
What I want to know is, how do you establish who pays? As a 20 year old, I haven't been on any fine dating experiences like you have. I'm assuming that since she asked you to go, she intends on paying, yes?
[–]winedanddined 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It was actually at an exclusive sort of club she belongs to. The check was presented to her and she signed the bill (house account) without a word. Did the same. Somehow we tacitly agreed that we would go Dutch on our movies and dinners out. If you get into any sort of relationship like this (ie large age and affluence difference) that most likely won't be permanent, the lines of communication should still be wide open, and some sort of discussion about boundaries and expectations needs to happen.

I had a short lived fling with an older woman years ago. I worked at a place she frequented so she knew my income level and that she made significantly more. She paid for everything and even wanted to go on trips/cruises with me, her paying of course. Relationship was purely sexual.
I didn't treat her any differently but I think the fact that she had a good 15 years on me, I was like 22 and worked in the service industry, and she owned her own business, It was expected she pay. Now had she been my age, that definitely wouldn't have been the case.
In short, I think an older woman is the easiest way to go about this.

[–]Mandreotti 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know, I don't think they should get any special privilege just because they're rich. I lie to homeless people too.
All joking aside, if some shithead liar gets picked up by a wealthy woman, chances are they're not going to stop being a shithead just because she's rich. Liars are going to lie, if they haven't figured out how to act like a decent human being it's their funeral.

Same way you date anyone else. Just because she's rich does not mean you stop paying. If you're trying to play it to get some free meals you're not looking at the big picture. What makes it worth it is the gifts. The trick is to ask for nothing, you'll eventually receive much more than you can imagine when played correctly.

The kind that will share her wealth with you and pay for things?
That's kind of a creepy and manipulative thing to ask for. You should be in relationships with women because you enjoy their company and actually like them, not to use them for their money.
[–]Plorge 40 points41 points42 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It is manipulative and not entirely wholesome, but it's an interesting question given that the social norm is more in favor of men being the provider of wealth.
[–]MarvinLazer 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
Why does wanting someone who can provide for you only rub people the wrong way if it's a man who's interested? Not saying I'd search out the same thing, but money is a pain in the ass and I think it's a big stretch to actually call OP disgusting or even manipulative.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago* (15 children) | Copy Link
It's manipulative and disgusting if a WOMAN does it too! You should get into a relationship because you develop a healthy attraction to each other through talking and spending tome together. Not through someone's checkbook.
Edit: Or at least be forthcoming about it.

I have a friend in medical school. She wants a rich boyfriend, because she's already a couple hundred grand in debt and doesn't want to worry about money. Her boyfriend is a petulant manchild who owns a business; he wants someone hot, smart, and who won't "dump their emotional shit on me" in his words. They're very happy together because they're fulfilling each others' needs and have no delusions about what their relationship is about. Whose business is it but theirs that they're "using" each other?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And my whole point is that that's fine. :P
(Also he's bi, so there's hope yet!)
[–][deleted] 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
They don't like each other; they're both brats. But neither of them is in the relationship for personality because she doesn't have the time for a deep relationship, and he basically just wants a hot lay that he can show off. They party, they go places now and then, and they spend nights together; they don't have any illusion that it's anything more than a temporary, opportunistic relationship. It's shallow and superficial, and that's totally fine.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Did I say that? No. I said you should be getting into relationships because you actually like the other person. Not so you can get their money.
[–]CrazyEddie0411 points 12 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link
Did I say that?
Um... yes? You're telling everyone how relationships should work, like you're the relationship judge. Some people prefer to base their relationships on money, sex, or any number of other things that aren't your preference. If I want a rich partner, that's entirely my business.
[–][deleted] 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
[–]CrazyEddie0411 points 12 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link
Yes, I am, because people are free to decide their own relationships, and the world isn't as black and white as you want it to be. Some people are totally fine with being the rich one who pays for everything, and don't care if their partner is "using" them. Feel free to "not even argue" if you like; it's easy to stop arguing when you have no argument.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Look, if both parties are AWARE that one is being used for their money, then I can't argue with that. That's two consenting adults agreeing to have a certain relationship and you're right, it's none of my business. What ruffles my feathers is that if a woman posted this she would get downvoted into oblivion but because it's a fellow man it's all fun and games.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's fine, but it's not what you've been saying. You've been arguing that wanting a rich partner is wrong, and trying to tell people how relationships "should" work. I'm saying that it's fine, regardless of which sex wants it. I wouldn't date someone who wanted me for my money, but I'm not going to pass moral judgment on them either.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Because young women do not look for rich well off guys... I don't even wear my iron ring in public any more.
[–]zenmagnets 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Excuse my ignorance, what does the iron ring have to do with...
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Ring
It's a gold digger picker upper. Most 'dishonest' (in the context of this thread) Canadian women would know what the ring signifies and it stands out because most men do not wear a ring on their pinky finger. I also find it skews the conversation way too much towards myself and I try to talk about myself as little as necessary. Lastly I have a habit of playing with it too much.
[–]bl1y 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's only manipulative if she doesn't know the deal. Otherwise, adults are allowed to form whatever relationships they want.

So tell me - have you ever been in an awkward situation where the bill comes at dinner, and you'd like to split it, but when you make the suggestion, the person you're at dinner with scoffs at you, bitches at how "the man should pay for things," or anything like that?
Because I have, which is why first-date-dinner-dates are something I don't do anymore. If a girl even hints to me that "the guy should pay for everything.." I walk.
So while reversing the mentality doesn't solve anything, you certainly have to at least understand where it's coming from....
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I do one of two things on a first date: Either we go dutch or I secretly pay for the meal on a planned trip to the bathroom. On my dating profile I state very clearly that I ONLY go to coffee for the first date so that way no one's money is wasted if we don't get along. I think it's perfectly acceptable for you to walk if a girl is hinting that she's all about YOU paying for everything.
People who use other people for their money are disgusting pigs. I don't care if you have two X Chromosomes or one. As a female I am very proactive about being financially secure but you should be regardless of gender.
[–]MarvinLazer 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Maybe he actually wants a real, loving relationship within this pool of wealthy women. Is my ex girlfriend a shallow pig because she dated me partly because I'm a competent musician? It's nothing more than a preference, as is the desire to not worry about money in the context of doing things as a couple. I learned to sing and play piano because it makes me happy and attracts the kind of women I'd like to spend time with, and I'd assume that a woman who has spent a considerable amount of time and energy accumulating wealth would have similar motivations. Obviously neither of us would want to be with someone who was SOLELY interested in those assets, but OP never indicated that he was in this group. I'm sorry, but your comments seem ridiculously judgmental, arbitrary, and have nothing productive or positive to offer. That's why they're getting downvoted.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't care about downvotes. If I did I would have deleted my comments.
IMO that doesn't sound like a guy who wants a loving relationship. It sounds like a guy who wants to have everything paid for.
I'm not even subscribed here anymore. I see what this subreddit is really for and it's no better than RedPill. When I first started lurking here it seemed like guys were looking for a way to better relate to women so I was fully on board to give POV as a woman but more and more this subreddit is just about sticking your dick in as many females as you can "trick" into it. I really DGAF what anyone here thinks of me. At least I'm not out looking for some guy to pay for everything.

Is it wrong to assume that the one who asks pays?
I'm a girl but always cover when I'm the one that asks--coffee or dinner. If I'm broke, invite them over for dinner and cook :| Not trying to say that "Oh you're the guy so you automatically pay"--I just always thought that it was polite to pick up the first one if you're the one that asks. No intent to offend/make some sort of gendered statement, innocent question.

Whenever I'm confronted with a Red "Piller" I always have to laugh because none of those neckbeards would say that shit to my face. I'm all for people having their own opinions on things but when your opinion is just mindless hate, you really need to stop and rethink your life.

Ding ding ding ding ding. Redpillers employ the strategy of "keyboard jockeying" which is really not a strategy at all, but idealizing a philosophy so deeply that you create a community where it supposedly "works" when in reality, none of these guys know what they're talking about.

It doesn't matter what I say or how I say it because I'm a woman who actually believes in equality and this sub is about getting as much ass as possible and then dumping the girl.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I gave up long ago on trying to change ignorant and hateful people's opinions so I guess if I were to look at it objectively I'd say that I'm trying to make myself feel better. I'm disgusted that a group of men are sitting around on the internet discussing how they can trick women into sleeping with them and then on top of that openly asking how to better get a hold of women that have probably had to fight for every dollar they have just so they can turn around and use them even though they're the first to complain when I woman does the same thing.
This guy obviously doesn't care about women's feelings so why should I care about his?
[–][deleted] 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well when you put it reasonably, I can't argue with you lol
Like I said before, when I first came to this sub I did so because I wanted to share any insight I had as a woman to help out any guys looking for tips. I know what it's like to approach the opposite sex, filled with apprehension and fear, and to be completely lost on how to interact with them so I empathize.
My tone started to change once I was told repeatedly that being intelligent was a bad thing and then there were all the harassing PM I've been getting which I haven't talked about until now. I was a girl coming here to try and help boys relate to girls and I was verbally abused and degraded into the angry little ball of fight that I am now.
Is it right? No. Is is incredibly ironic considering my stance? Yes. Are you awesome for pointing out my hypocrisy in a reasonable and logical way? Fuck yes. Am I going to change? I'm just not going to get involved anymore. It's clear that I can't keep a level head about these things and I don't want to ruin the wisdom I'm trying to share by presenting it like a twat. (Which I have been.)
My apologies. I'm just not down for people treating each other like shit.

For me it just happened. She liked to pay for me, but I didn't know she was rich until she told me she had inherited 22 million. She is also 10 years younger than me, so not a cougar. Didn't seek it out, and I have my own money which is probably why she felt comfortable telling me.
