I've always been of the opinion that if a girl doesn't reciprocate your interest, you should move on to other girls. I don't want to come across as overly creepy or desperate. Getting rejected doesn't bother me too much, and I never really contact girls after they flake or don't respond to texts, etc.

At the same time, I'm starting to wonder if my lack of persistence has prevented me from getting with some girls.

I'm thinking of trying something now: On saturday morning, I went to a brunch place really close to my house and ordered some food to go. Still a little drunk from the night before, I participated in one of my favorite pastimes: flirting with the cashier/hostess.

Usually I just joke around with them for a just minute and leave to eat my food, but this time I ordered to-go had a 15-minute wait for my food. I spent my time flirting pretty openly with the hostess. She was a really adorable girl-next-doorsy type (just my style). She was cracking up pretty much the whole time and I was feeling myself. Finally when my food came, I told her that she's cute and she should give me her number. I definitely expected her to give it to me, but she said I should give her mine instead. I insisted on getting her's at first but relented and ended up just saying "fuck it" and gave it to her. For whatever reason, I kinda thought she might text me.

She did not ever contact me. No big deal. I hit on a lot of girls and get rejected pretty often. I move on. But for some reason I'm still thinking about this one. I've been considering stopping by the brunch place in the next few days and asking her out (if she's working).

A few questions:

  1. Is this a bad Idea from a seduction standpoint? (Normally I would think it is, but maybe I should try something new)

  2. If you think this is a good idea, how would you advise I ask her out?

  3. What (specifically) could I have done differently the first time to have more success?
