As a guy who hasn't had his first kiss I want to ask is holding eye contact with a girl something like a validation if you can kiss her? Are you trying to tell her with your eyes that you want to do that, looking at her lips and such.

See to me I show my interest in mentally showing her that I'm going to kiss her by gradually escalating physically, keeping strong eye contact and looking away when she does. The idea is the build and get comfortable holding tension, that feeling in your stomach that feels a little uncomfortable but exhilarating at the same time.
Try also to gradually get closer so the gap between your kiss in smaller, otherwise you'll practically be lunging at her. She'll dodge or offer her cheek if you pick too early anyways. Practice holding silence for that 2-3 seconds before the kiss.

Well these weren't all matches and immediate dates, these varied from 2 week old matches and 4 day old matches. Just all logistically worked out to have dates within the same week. Had to maintain interest with texting in the meantime.
