Giving attention to girls is only a problem when giving too much attention. The guys who are swarming her with attention are probably doing it to get the girl to like them. If they are going out of their way to get her attention and talk to her, then she feels manipulated. That's the way attractive girls are constantly living their lives. Guys are constantly trying to go out with them. They believe that giving them fake compliments or being "too nice" to them will actually attract them.

Girls are extremely socially aware and they see how you treat other people around you. If a guy is nice to a girl and he is not nice to a guy, this will confirm that he was only nice to the girl for her to like him. So treating everyone the same is really important.

Another thing is give her attention and talk to her in a cool way, by sharing good stories or experiences. The important thing is finding things you find interesting to talk about. Talk about them with passion and detail. Balance the attention by not trying too much to get her attention. For example, if the manager calls her while you're talking to her, let her be even after she comes back. Leave her some room and she will want to reinitiate. This is key. Girls want space more than anything from guys more than anything. And be nice to girls, just not too nice.

If you're trying to improve your humor, experiment with a few. Here are a few good comedians to look for: Eddie Murphy, Dave Chapelle, Chris Rock, Chris Tucker, Louis CK, Ray Romano, Craig Ferguson, Bill Burr, Sebastian Maniscalco. Listen to their humor and see which resonate with you and which comes relatively easy to you.

Lower the threshold of what's "good" to say. People just exchange facts because it's safe. You've got to open up and take risks, and you can only do that by investing less into the conversation. It shouldn't matter to you to be liked by people and constantly seek theur approval. You should be amusing yourself first, then taking people's reactions into consideration. If a thought pops into your head it should come straight out your mouth. No filters or thinking yourself out of it. The funniest jokes I've ever made were just random thoughts that popped into my head. And people respond well to them.

Most of the time even girls you're talking to will be much more willing to take jokes and be playful than you give them credit for (e.g. I was talking to a shy girl in one of my uni classes and just decided to crack a joke about her giant tits. She ended up laughing and became more interested in me. We're meeting for coffee this week)

I'd say it's a problem with your delivery. Half of my sense of humor is saying mean shit and then looking in their eye and flashing a smile so they know I'm kidding.

Only piece of advice is to just apologize to her the next time you see her for being too much. But explain to her that you are just used to everyone in the kitchen throwing those jokes around and you just messed up by doing it too early with her. Honesty is the best policy for something like this. I think she will understand and get the joke more after you explain it like that. Then you could potentially move on to getting to know her so you can throw jokes like that. Something like, "Lets get to know each other so I can tell you that I don't like working with you for sure!" Jokingly of course lol.

you don't need to be funny to get girls. girls laugh when they are with guys they are attracted to because they are horny
