The reason for this could be a vast number of things. With the information you provided I can only guess a few. The most likely reason would be you probably didn't escalate physically throughout the date which is why it felt so awkward to kiss her. Remember that when you escalate, you're also warming yourself up, not just her. I've also been on dates where she and I just didn't hit it off enough and there just was no attraction... no big deal... shrug it off and move on. A Hollywood move is when you pretty much wait until the end of the date to go for a kiss.

That is Hollywood though, not what should happen in reality.

A kiss should definitely occur before the end of the date. Your line "I think your gorgeous, and I really wanna kiss you" is good. Next time say it during your date. Even before you head for the bar.

Want to know when is the perfect moment to go for a kiss? Go for a kiss as soon as you feel that it's a good moment for one. Trust yourself and just go for it. The girl your with may not go for it. That is common. Wait 15 more minutes and try again. Keep doing that until you finally get a kiss from her.

Of course, when a girl says no verbally and non verbally, then no means no. Most of the time girls will just reject you when you for a kiss so they don't come across as easy.

The trick is to sexualize from the start. You missed this, and to be blunt, you showed the girl you don't have the level confidence required to sexualize. No worries, she's a practice run anyway. So how do you sexualize correctly. the key word is subtly. playful light kino, find an excuse to hold her hand for a few seconds, good eye contact. Guaging the correct amount of sexualisation is about trial and error, I've gone from zero sexualisation to overly aggressive, and ease back again, but I'm almost there ;-)
