I've been talking with many people (mostly friends) about pick up /game. Most of them say it's "creepy" and they make fun of me/it. But they always end up laughing nervously and looking away when I suggest them to try anything.

For me, pick up is the moment when you see the sparkle of a connection between you and some stranger. When you see a whole world of possibilities just walking by. Maybe just because of a boner, maybe just because she/he is hot, maybe because this person has a special vibe. I don't care. There's a reason, there can be a connection, and there can be things you can obtain from it, that's all.

When you take the risk to explore that world and to share your own one with the other person.

Always with respect, and being treated with the same respect, having fun and enjoying with yourself.

Each interaction, each person, has something to offer, something to learn from. You didn't get her number? Okay. Have you had fun? Have you tried something new? Have you fought against your AA and won? Yey! That's great. There's always something good.

That, for me, it's not creepy. At least not as creepy as a guy getting a girl drunk to manage to kiss her because he doesn't have the guts to even build rapport with her (not having anything against people who drink a little bit to feel more confident. I'm talking about those who make sure the other part of the interaction is really drunk).

I just don't get why everything good that you can obtain from picking up (and using it to improve your life) is creepy.

So I ask you, seddit, do you think pick up, the game, self improvement and everything related, is creepy?
