Sup guys, I had some free time and was going back to old internet places I used to know (one was the Bodybuilding Misc, the other was the League of Legends forums haha).

This PUA stuff used to be all the rage when I was a high-school senior. IIRC there was even was a TV show about it. I had a lot of friends who were into it ("Magic Bullets" was a popular book).

I don't think any of those friends ever became a player (broadly defined) or even dated attractive women. I do know a few players, but they trade on being conventionally attractive (6 ft+, juiced, extroverted, etc).

I had read The Game and some other PUA stuff. I approached some women around college, but only succeeded in weirding them out. When I discussed this with a more experienced Sedditor, he said you had to approach 1000+ women to get anywhere. I said "what the actual fuck" and went back to my videogames.

That was in 2010. It's now a decade later, the videogames are losing their sheen...and I'm still dateless. So maybe I'll have to take the slings and arrows after all. But before I do, it's worth asking if there's a light at the end of the tunnel, cause all my friends who tried this stuff tanked (though they do have fairly successful upper-middle class careers.)
