Yes, doing physical things together in general is a good bonding experience, especially if it's a sport that she's interested in and you're good at.

Her being interested => she's having fun while she's around you.

You're good at it => huge DHV for you. Also, being athletic/graceful is sexy.

Note: if she's also really good, you don't necessarily have to be better than her, but it will help. Also, it should be a sport that you enjoy playing as well because you will be more attractive if you are having fun.

Adam Lyons won the "award" for "Best PUA" a few years ago, so he's considered pretty knowledgeable. I think right now he also has a wife and at least one kid, so most of his advice comes from the experiences he's had in the past. He generally says good shit though.

Basketball could definitely be fun if your skill levels are pretty close. Tennis would be terrible if she's not good at it (and it's more of a "niche" sport -- many people might be good at soccer/basketball/football but still horrible at tennis because they've never played it. In my experience, it really doesn't matter how athletic you are -- tennis is gonna be difficult at the start. Same for golf and sports like those).

IMO, I wouldn't take her on a date that revolves around competition. There's just too many ways where it'll end poorly (either you beat her and she's kinda mad about it, or you take it easy and she feels bad about herself, or she beats you and you feel bad/awkward about it, etc.). If you still want to do something like that, I think bowling/darts/pool would be better, because most people are "newbies" at those games, so the competition won't be very serious.

If she's traveled and shit, it might be better to go on a hike or something like that (or even just go for a jog -- it's really simple, but it definitely brings you closer together and you both exert some energy).

In my experience, I've played basketball against girls (and beat the shit out of them), but I didn't focus on the competitive aspects. It was just a game, and we had a good time. I didn't mock them every time I made a shot or they missed, I just acted like it was no big deal either way. Whereas for something like pool or bowling, you're free to mock them because they're not "popular" sports, so they don't take it personally (at least, not as much). You can do the same for any other sport, but it might just be inherently harder, especially if you've played a certain sport your whole life -- you can't help but judge them for their lack of ability (or if they beat you, you can't help but judge them for that too).

If you know she likes tennis though, then definitely play some tennis with her. Basketball is a little too competitive IMO, so it can easily lead to some bad feelings. Tennis won't have that same effect. And in that regard, any other "non-standard" sport is good too. I definitely wouldn't play football/baseball against some girl I wanna date. It just wouldn't work out because one of us would become too competitive and it'd turn the other one off.

As long as you both have fun, then do it and that applies to every type of date/hangout. Some of my best experiences are just sitting around talking over how crappy the FX movie we're watching is while eating popcorn.

Physical activities can be some of the best dates in my opinion, being somewhat athletic myself. I'd do something diff from reg sports like kayaking, rock climbing, trail running, just to show that you're outgoing and open to doing new things (if you are).

I remember a first date of mine which turned out incredibly well. We didn't exactly go into sport but a nice long bike ride to a museum in a different city. We had the chance to talk wonderfully during the bike trip and enjoy the scenery, =being for ourselves, while constantly having a goal ahead of us: the museum. It was quite the long date and it took us a full day spending time together until we rested from the bike tour in a remote cafe where we then kissed passionately. It was a lot of fun for both of us.

Point is: try to combine sporty activity with something casual. ONLY sports might seem intimidating and too competitive to some girls unless it's something she thoroughly enjoys as well.
