It's tough because everyone's definition of state varies wildly. I don't really change states all that much per se. I may schmooze with women outside of work, but I still openly engage people, banter and have fun. Granted, I am a design engineer so I'm often interacting with people constantly.

To warm up and get in state, just open everyone for a good 30-45 mins. Don’t be selective just get yourself in a social mood. I would also advise that you try and minimize the time between each interaction. I do this every time I go out and it has gotten me consistent results in game. Give it a try

I talk with people at the office, I talk with people that I meet along the way, I talk with people at the destination. I basically open everyone that’s openable.

Just call this.getInState() on the self object. Remember to not declare the method as an ES6 arrow function as the “this” will not be bound to the object.

Best ways are meeting up with friends before, calling someone, or just opening people. I dig opening old ladies. If you’ve been tinkering with CSS you may need a couple drinks to loosen up

You have to learn to isolate the different parts of your life. I'm an extremely geeky programmer but when I'm going out I do not talk anything about programming, unless specifically asked about it. When I'm at work, I'll talk my heart out about how goroutines are fucking awesome and why I use them everywhere.

A change in state can sometimes be achieved with a change in clothes. So I change from a shirt/sneakers into something a little more classy when I go out.
