This is a post to report what the other side of dating looks like. As a 23F I consider myself somewhat attractive or moderately attractive. When I did online dating two years ago (in a relationship at the moment), I messaged the guy every single time, put work into creating conversation openers and asking questions in their profile. I swiped left on people I wasn't sure if i would like unless I met them in person. i didn't do tinder because i was looking for a relationship, and i stuck to relationship only apps.

I ended up with a new date every single night, two weeks in a row. After a while i got disheartened because there were too many dates and i had to take a break because the lack of success. Most of them had giant dealbreakers, they all ended up being first dates because some were really self absorbed, and some I had felt no attraction to when having a conversation. Our values and character were just so vastly different. Every time I didnt feel anything during the meetup I always thanked the guy for him time and attention, gave him a compliment here and there, and let him know I wasn't interested. Only one person texted me back thanking me for not ghosting. The rest didnt bother texting back or said some passive aggressive comment. People are so shitty.

My (now) boyfriend ended up being someone that I met in person first. I guess a take away from the experience is even when you are a girl, and get dates every single day, it doesn't mean you will find the right person. Its so much easier to feel someone out in person than it is over online dating. Had I been able to meet these 8 dudes in person, I may only have gone out with half of them because the way someone acts (body language, arrogance, speech patterns, vibe) goes into it too.

One example is a fairly attractive guy who wouldn't stop talking about his career and motivation. I told him that career is important, and having a good family and relationship was also important to me. He wouldnt stop talking about "how to be motivated in your career" the whole entire date. So boring.

A guy who didnt stop talking about himself nonstop for 1 complete hour, I got in about 3 or 4 sentences which he paused to let me speak for about a second. 🀣

A guy who reported that he drives recklessly over 100 mph occasionally, wrecked his bike, and still breaks the law because he has a hard time being responsible.

A guy who got in a fight with his dad and whom shot him in the knee. They didnt talk for a whole year and are now friends. Scared

A guy who was totally overweight and boring. Said he had no hobbies, interests or career besides watching TV, and 30 years old. Worked in a fitness equipment as a salesman for 8 years (no ambitions). Doesnt want to move anywhere besides the place he grew up. His ex left him out of no where (i presume out of boredom)

The other three were actually decent human beings but the connection just wasnt there.

So maybe this will give you guys some perspective that things are handed to you as a woman, but that does not mean you get a relationship served up to you. It may just mean being out of luck more often.
