Sister's friend hit me up to come to her place and watch a movie a few weeks back. Last night was the first night I had free to do so. She tells me she's making dinner and that it could use a red wine. I am thinking slam dunk. She's shown IOI in the past while I was an AFC living with my parents. She's just got out of a relationship and sister told me she was looking to rebound. I go in with full confidence thinking there is no way I can screw this up.

Not so. I initiate kino as we're moving through the kitchen finishing up cooking. We move to the couch, I mirror her body language and keep up the kino (forearm touches while speaking, sitting with legs touching, brushing hair out of her face) but she's not responding at all. I am at a complete loss. I keep it up through the movie and then as I'm gathering my keys and things to say goodnight she asks why I'm leaving so soon and if I want to hang around a bit longer. I'm thinking I'm back in, so I stay ... and we end up playing a board game. Right there, I count the situation as a total loss (Maybe not a total loss, that new electronic Monopoly game with the credit cards is pretty fun).

How could I possibly have seen what was coming? My line of thought is that if a girl invites you over for dinner and a movie and tells you to bring wine, you're in.

The question's mostly rhetorical. I just need to vent a little. I'm completely baffled. If there was something I could have learned from this, I wouldn't even post. It'd be cut and dry "I messed up here, here, and here. I'll work on that next time" but as I said, I'm at a complete loss.
