This is a daygame set. A bit of relevant background first.

Have been struggling a lot with AA, and this often leads to me wandering around for over an hour before a summon the courage to open. To combat this I've been setting myself weekly targets of opening earlier in the session each week. Within an hour 1 week, two weeks before did 30 mins, last week failed to do 15 mins, this session I was trying for under 25 mins.

Arrive on a busy London street at 18:30. See a few obvious PUAs at work (this street has at least 4 puas working it some nights). This puts me off as I don't want to end up opening a set someone else has just opened (direct daygame isn't like bargame... girls aren't usually hit on like this so it stands out in their minds. Getting opened 2 times in a row would seem odd to them). I'm paranoid about this.

20 mins goes by, and I have let a few viable targets slip away without opening. Then I see a cute little blonde walking by. At first I'm not going to open. Too scared. Then I remind myself that fear is just a reminder that I'm pushing it like I should do. I decided to just open then eject, just to get it over with. I give chase.

I tap her on the arm...

Me: Excuse me

Her: (Steps back a little shocked)

Me: (Holding my hands up) Oooh you're a bit scared. I just saw you walking by, and I thought you were really cute, so I decided to come say hi.

Her: Thank you

Me: So what you doing out tonight

Her: I'm just out shopping

Me: Makes sense on this street

Her: (Looking around) Are you on your own?

Ok, this struck me as a weird question. Hundreds of people are walking down this street on their own. Makes me think she's seen other guys opening, and thinks I'm with them. This makes me paranoid.

Me: Yeah. I'm actually on my way to bar X to meet a friend. I've never been there before, but I think it's just down this road.

Her: Yeah I think it is.

Me: Well was nice meeting you. Bye then. (I start to walk off)

Her: Don't you want my number

Me: What?

Her: Well I'm guessing that's why you stopped me.

She's thrown me now, I go all Hugh Grant.

Me: Um, well

Her: We can meet up some other time if you want? I mean I'm usually quite chatty. Just didn't expect to get stopped in the street and then have questions fired at me. I wasn't ready.

Me: Well... Um.. We didn't seem to really get a conversation going. I can't take your number until I know more about you. What's you're name.

Her: I'm xxxxx

Me: I'm daygamer

I talk about her and her job for a couple of minutes, throw in a few jokes.

Her: Enough about me! I want to know about you.

Me: Ask away

Her: what do you do?

Me: Take a look at me and see if you can work it out.

Her answer is very close. I get her to tell me how she came to that conclusion. Her analysis of my dress / personality is very accurate. I'm impressed.

Me: So I think I will take your number now I know your not a wierdo.

Get phone out, put her name in, hand it to her to type number in.

Me: Don't drop it

Her: I have one of these, and without a padded case. I've never dropped it

Me: I often drop mine, hence the case

Her: So I'm less clumsy than you

Me: We'll see

Her: You're acting I'm lucky you're taking my number. Actually, you should feel privileged.

Me: Let's be fair and say we're both mutually priviliged on this occasion.

Her: OK. Were you really just going to walk of earlier

Me: Yeah

Her: Why?

Me: I didn't really think it through. I saw you. You were cute. I came to say hi, then realized starting a conversation like that with someone you don't know in the street can be tricky. I just didn't think it through.

Her: Laughs

I left her telling her I'd text her. There was something about the way she acted (cocky at times, doesn't come accross in the text), the way she expected me to try and close (although this could be obvious from going direct) and the way she thought I wasn't on my own that just lead me to think one thing: This girl knows about game, and specifically direct day game.

I text her a few hours later:

Me: Hi, was nice meeting you earlier, although there was something I forgot to ask you

Her: Hello! Yes, me too... it was funny. What's the question, I'm intrigued

(The It was funny sounds like a slight neg?)

Me: Do horses sleep standing up? Was a hotly debated topic in the pub. You looked wise, thought you'd know.

Her: Right, Yes they do. I have a question for you... Do you know any magic tricks?

OK, that sets off the alarm bells. Thanks to mystery, magic tricks are now synonymous with game. At this point I think she knows about game and is messing with me.

Me: I can make a pint disappear in 60 seconds. I take it you have a little thing for David Blaine...

Her: Bang on...

Seemed a little bitchy. With a 'lol' added it wouldn't. I feel she's trying to call me out on game and doesn't like me not 'fessing up. I decide to cut to the chase anyway.

Me: Lets meet at x place on x day at x time for a proper chat and a drink

Her: I'm busy this weekend. How about early next week?

Me: Cool. Probably Monday but I will text you and let you know nearer the time. Am off to bed. [Callback humor about her job]

She doesn't respond, but a response itsn't really required seeing as I said I'd text her.

So, this girl seems to know about game. I thought it after the set, just some hunch I had, but I think the magic trick thing sealed it 100%.

But, what's her motivation? Maybe she likes the idea of being picked up, and is jut being playfull about the game side of things and doesn't mind, or maybe she knows about game, hates the idea of it (some girls do) and has decided to mess with me. Either way, I'll just try and get her out on a day 2 and see what happens.

Thoughts?

PS A lot of girls seem to know about game these days. My ex gf called me out on it after we were in a bar with some of my wings and words like 'set' 'open' and 'wingman' were thrown around. Turns out she has guy friends that tried it out once. She didn't like it, but stayed with me telling me she liked me inspite of game, not because of it.
