Hey Guys!

Its been a while. I have not been practicing due to a new job and location so I am trying to get accustomed to the area.

I set up a date with a girl I met through a friend yesterday at Chipotle(why not). Mind you the night before, I did confirm if the date was still on and she confirmed it with a "Yes!"

Showed up at Chipotle 10 minutes before 3pm. I mingled with some people passing by, making jokes on which is the best dish to get: bowl or burrito. Its 3:15pm and I sent a quick text to my date

*Me: Looks like you'll be fashionably late this time *Her: No response

3:30pm my stomach was growling and I soon realized that she stood me up. Damn, I hate that feeling however I was more hungry than upset so I went inside, ate my chicken burrito and left.

Felt defeated, I wanted to take my mind off the failed date and I practiced my windmills at the gym. After finishing my set with a freeze I saw with my peripheral vision a girl standing there looking at my sets. I still resumed, not wanting to look at another girl after what happened today and kept going. 5 minutes in, she was still there!

At first I wanted to ignore her but then I could not just let my disappointment take over:

*Me: Hey! You want to learn?

*HB7: Haha. it looks painful!

*Me: I won't take no for an answer. Come try!

She obliged and shuffled her feet toward me. I showed her the basics of the move, aligned her body a bit (She was wearing LuLu Lemon tights ;)), and joked to her how it took me nearly 6 months learning this move. She got down baby freeze real quick.

*Me: You're really flexible. I bet you were either a gymnast or a dancer yourself

*HB7: Yes I used to do ballet but it was too controlled

*Me: That's why you should come to the wild side and be free. That's what I love about this dance

*HB7: Haha. You're right but it looks painful

*Me: Painful yes but exciting since it got your attention

HB7: Yes you did

*Me: You should add breaking to your gym sessions

*HB7: Yeah but I don't want to bruise my face

Me: Then wear a faceguard like they do in hockey if you're THAT concerned (I rolled my eyes while I was smiling)

We both laughed after my comment. I learned that she was in finance and goes to the gym 3 times a week. It was time to break out and head home

*Me: It was nice meeting you but I got to go home and make myself dinner

*HB7: Really? You're not staying any longer to teach me?

*Me: I know you'll miss me but my stomach precedes over everyone so far

*HB7: Haha me miss you??? Pleeeaaase!

*Me: Haha yeah but in all seriousness I got to go. I had a long day today

*HB7: Okay (feeling disappointed)

Me: How's this crazy idea? Ill jot down my number so we can be in contact and ill teach you more moves and then some

*HB7: Great idea, crazy!

I gave her my number and we said our goodbyes. She immediately called my cell number while I was driving. I sent her a quick text when I arrived home:

*Me: "Sorry, I couldn't text while driving, unless you'll pay for my ticket"

*Her text response: "LMAO! :)"

I called her today after sending a few texts during work to set up a date. I'm actually going to see her twice this Monday, one at the gym, and a dinner date right after that!

Lesson learned during this interaction:

Being stood up hurts. I don't care how much facial hair we have on our face or able to hold our emotions together. It does hurt.

Keep resuming what you would have done that day After being stood up, I was hungry so I resumed to eat my lunch, regardless if my previous date did not show up. I kept going throughout the day and went to the gym.

One bad apple doesn't necessarily ruin all I didn't want to talk to any woman today until I saw that girl that admired my windmills at the gym. I went on being myself and invited her over. Every person is different. Don't let one woman change your views about how women are overall.
