Hey guys! I've noticed a huge influx in Field Reports lately and I am glad to see it! Unfortunately I haven't been out sarging much lately(finals coming up so school is becoming my number one priority) but I thought I would go back a few months and tell you guys about some of my airport game stories. I fly back and forth from college a lot so I spend a lot of time in airports. Airports are great places to meet people because everyone is looking for an adventure, something exciting or foreign. It’s one of my favorite places to talk to people. Unfortunately it’s hard to keep the interaction going past the time you spend at the airport because you are probably headed in all different directions. But here are some of my favorite airport pickups(both number closes). It’s long but read on , I saved the best one for last(HB 10!!!)

Field Report 1:

So I'm flying home from college for the weekend a few months ago and I get to my gate pretty early. I spot this HB8 sitting by herself on her computer across the way. I keep stealing glances at her and one time our eyes meet. I'm still too AFC to attempt an approach so I just sit back and go over what I would say if I had the balls.

The time comes to board and we all get in line. She gets to her seat before I get on so when I board I see her sitting in her seat. The whole time sitting in the terminal I keep thinking to myself "How awesome would it be if i was seated next to her? But what are the odds?". Well as I'm walking down the aisle, I'm so concerned with looking "suave" that I don't even look at which seat I'm sitting in. I finally get past her and look down at my ticket, and realize I've already passed my seat. So I look back to find my seat and lo and behold, it's right next to HB8. So I turn around, put my baggage away and take a seat. We sit silently next to each other for some minutes with neither of us doing much of anything. Finally, I work up the courage to speak. "Hey", I said. She turns and smiles and returns the "Hey". I mention how it's nice to finally get seated next to someone my age so I can have a real conversation for once. She sorta half smiles and says "yeah". I'm thinking I've blown it but I don't give up. I say "Yeah, way better than getting suck to some smelly fat guy or a crying baby, amirite?" she actually laughs at this and comments on how she was stuck next to a smelly fat guy on her last flight and that this is a much better arrangement.

She is starting to feel more comfortable so we continue talking. Turns out she is from my hometown and knows a few of my friends. This makes conversation a breeze, even for a then-AFC like myself. We keep talking the entire flight(only about 45 min) but we are both laughing and having a great time. When it comes time to get off the plane we exchange numbers and hugs and go on our merry ways. Unfortunately she had a long-term boyfriend who she was planning on marrying(they are now engaged) but I kept in contact with her and have met many other HBs though her. So, guys, even if your HB is taken, don’t give up, they can still provide great social proof in later situations!

Field Report 2:

This one starts off pretty much the same way. I walk up to the gate and see this STUNNING HB10(yes, 10!). She is a tall blond with a perfect body, great skin and eerily blue eyes. I can see that pretty much every guy in the terminal is checking her out as they walk by. As I get closer I see that both seats next to her are taken but there is an open seat across from her so I take a seat and open….the guy right next to me. HB10 is reading a book so I don’t want to pull her out of that world right away so I open the people around me. I talk to the guy next to me about the local sports team and then I include the old couple across from me(sitting next to HB10) in another conversation(I forgot the topic by now). Now I have the attention of most of the people around me and HB is taking notice. I see her look up from her book at me occasionally.

Finally, when I see her look up for about the 5th time I say “You look like you have something to say, care to join the fun?” she chuckles and gives a curt response about whatever it was we were talking about and starts to go back to her book. But before she can get back into her world I notice she is wearing sorority letters. I use this and say “Hey, I see your letters, are you in [sorority]?” She says “haha yeah” and I go from there. My mom was also in that sorority so we talk about that for awhile then we bring up my fraternity and then Greek/college life in general. Pretty soon the other people drop out of the conversation because they just can’t relate. So now it’s just me and HB10 talking and she seems to be responding really well. I’m probably talking more than her but it’s definitely not one-sided. She’s from a college across the country but her family just moved to my hometown so she is down there for the weekend to help her move. I said “give me your number, [city] is big and you’re gonna need someone to show you around!” She said “yeah, definitely! You know any good bars/clubs?” I didn’t but I said I did(I could find out from my friends in about 10 minutes). So we exchange numbers and get on the plane.

We aren’t anywhere near each other on the plane but the guy I end up sitting next to is one of the guys I opened when I first sat down. We get to talking again and he starts asking me how I got that girls number. He’s telling me how awesome it was to watch and if I could give him any pointers. I pointed him towards some PUA resources I knew. Now, when it comes time to get off I make sure I stall until she gets off, too so we can walk out together. We hug and go our separate ways. I text her the next day asking if she wants that tour but she says her family needs her all weekend for family stuff but that we would definitely hang out the next time we were both in town. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet(us both being in town) but we still keep in contact so I’m hopeful!
