Last night, even though I was running a fever and not really in the mood to go out (I wasn't contagious according to the doctor though) I thought "fuck that, nothing is going to ruin my saint paddys day".

People's Interactions

I went out to the first bar with some friends, and I knew I wasn't going to be doing any approaches tonight (kind of hard to feel up for it when your throat is burning like a motherfucker) but I observed a LOT of interactions between other people. You could easily tell which guys were confident and which weren't simply by their stances. Guys without confidence had hands in pockets, slouched shoulders, beer in front of chest and were just staring at women, creeping them out.

Talking to the Female Friends

I started talking to some girl friends of mine there, and they were complaining how they NEVER get approached (they are attractive girls). I informed them a lot of dudes have approach anxiety, and they need to look more approachable to begin with (NOTE TO SELF: even if a girl doesn't look like she wants to be approached, she still might). I then told them they needed to approach some guys but they said If a guy is too scared to approach me, then I have no interest in him. Take note newbie sedditors.

Second Bar And I Fail At Making Moves

We head out to the second bar, and we wind up running into this girl that I met through a friend. I decided to try to flirt it up with her, but really, I was bombing horribly. I couldn't escalate like I usually would, I went in interview mode instead of keeping it light and fun (with my fever, I was so out of it and could barely concentrate). Nothing comes of it obviously.

TL;DR: Was sick, went out anyway, didn't approach anyone but learned a lot about people's interactions and body language. Tried to flirt with one girl, bombed horribly. Now, a different guy was there and he was totally in state, and kudos to him. He escalated with her, joked around, danced by himself, and when her friend walked in who he never met, instantly started dancing with her. Guess who the ladies liked more?

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't approach any other attractive girls there, but like I said, I just wasn't in the mood (at one point, a girl approached me but I sort of brushed her off), and figure i do it a night when I feel better. I used the night instead to learn a lot about people's body language, and it's an interesting change.
