Feel like I need to post this as a problem shared is a problem halved - maybe you can share my cringe that i'm feeling

There were these 2 gorgeous girls sitting at the bar. Lots of eyes were on them. I decided to take the bull by the horns and walk over to them and cold approach.

me: Hey. I just noticed you and thought you looked cute. You look Swedish?

Her: No, i'm from here

Me: Oh. So what are you two up too later? (trying to involve the friend, but she is looking freaked out and is just staring at her friend, eye-coding her, lol)

Her: Not sure

Me: We're going to X-bar - you ever go there?

Her: Sometimes

Me: What's your name, anyway?

Her: Sophie

Me: I used to have a hamster called Sophie

Her: haha

Me: I'm gonna try to guess how old you are

Her: OK

Me: (I look her up and down like i'm studying her) 23?

Her: 18

Me: Shit, you're just a baby. What time's you bed time?

Her: haha

Me: What are you drinking there?

Her: Vodka

Me: (I go into a short story about being in Vegas for a friends stag doo and getting way drunk on vodka and about how I hate it now)

Her: (kind of starring at her glass waiting for me to leave! lol)

At this point the target simply seems to be simply 'tolerating' me, and he friend seems to hate me/think i'm super weird/whatever

I also have basically ran out of questions to ask her. Not sure what to say. What to talk about.

I completely go into me head and the atmosphere is now super awkward. You can literally feel it. I 100% lose any form of 'frame' here and am bordeline wanting to apologise to them for approaching them/bothering them!

Me: Sooooo...........yeah. OK, then. I'm just gonna.......go now. Errrr.....bye!!

And I scuttle off with my tail between my legs!

I wish I knew how to begin a fun conversation with a stranger. I guess that's why Mystery uses 'routines' and stuff. But I've never found a 'routine' which doesn't seem super weird and incongruent to me

RSD guys seems to be able to get away with the regual 'chode questions' (who are you, whats your name, how old are you, where do you come from etc). Especially JulienRSD. He literally shotguns chide questions at girls. But maybe the reason this works for them is because they always game in tourist destinations and in other countries, so that the chode questions kind of make more sense. There's something naturally 'interesting' about conversing with people of a different nationality in a different country.

But that does help me trying to game girls in a small town where everyone was born and raised here.

Coincidentally, I had another 4 interactions similar to the above one, and then finally had a much better interaction with a girl from PRAGUE! She actually seemed to have a personality, and didn't seem to think it was weird that I approached her without knowing her
